Don RosenbergParticipant
Hi Courtney,
I have some new ideas. I’ve already got a workaround that might be automated. Can you connect me with the right people?Don.
Don RosenbergParticipantHi Victor,
Thanks for the info. Yes, I saw the article.I have 116 scheduled imports, so I’ll review what I have and pare them down.
I’ve had a major problem with EA for quite a while. I will look at my
history, see that a group has zero imports, then visit the group and see a
bunch of events listed. I go to one event and can always manually import it.Is there a reason that EA would not see an event listed in a group? I am
sure that this is an issue that is independent of the limit discussion we
just had. What is EA looking for? A listing within the group, or the events tab
associated with the group? Or both? Here is an example.
https://www.facebook.com/groups/tucsontango/
https://www.facebook.com/groups/tucsontango/events/
From this example, it appears that all events at the
https://www.facebook.com/groups/tucsontango/events/ page were imported
already. But that could have been because they were listed by other groups. On the https://www.facebook.com/groups/tucsontango/ main page the first two
events listed were not imported and I was able to import them manually. Here’s one. https://www.facebook.com/events/187747148627864/
So from this I would guess that even though a group may MENTION an event,
unless it’s in the group’s events page, EA doesn’t see it. Is that right?I see a lot of this occurring.
Thanks for your insights…
This is my website in case you’re interested… It’s pretty much built
around EA.Dance Like No One’s Watching!

Don RosenbergParticipantPopulating the website address field with the facebook event url is an OK solution. It would be much better to be able to highlight the event as we did before.
Is there any way to do this? Have you deactivated the snippets option?

You aren’t muddling up anything. I was asking two questions – 1. does your plugin import the website? Yes, if it’s populated in the original event listing on facebook, and 2. is including an optional link back to the original facebook event a feature that TEC would like to add? What’s the answer to #2?

It is very likely that these events do NOT have an entry in the website field. My point all along is that a very important feature for facebook events import would be a link back to the original event, so people could go there, RSVP, and participate in the conversation about the event. Obviously you have that information. Perhaps it can be an option that can be turned on or off. “Link to original event.”This would be in addition to the info we already are seeing, which is the website link when provided.
