Excellent. I just noticed this now, installed it and it’s working again!

2) Adding July events in other categories appear to be working until we realized after the first category was done and moved on to the second, that July events are also not being filtered by category. I.e. Calendar B has events that were just added to calendar A.
Sigh.
David PlumsteadParticipantHi Jamie,
How often does the site attempt to sync with Eventbrite? If I make a change on an event’s description (on either end) how long do I have to wait for it to show up on the other end?
David PlumsteadParticipantYes, I’m aware. I’m not sure what did it specifically, a lot was changing at once but I was able to import an updated version of the event with only two ticket types – and it worked (via ID, not via the integration).
I’m about to update TEC & Pro on our live site before we start publicizing the event.
David PlumsteadParticipantSo, our live event is, well, supposed to go live today.
I just tried importing it as a private (but published) event from Eventbrite on our live site and it’s not going as planned.
- It has been set up as a registration event rather than tickets.
- There are 5 ticket types
Other than that, it’s pretty much identical to my test setups.
The first clue I had that things weren’t going well was when it couldn’t pull events from my main Eventbrite account (again). I realized the Additional Options plugin was disabled as I had updated to the most recent 1.0.3 version just released a few days ago.
I was able to import using the event ID. It pulled in the featured image (side note: the featured image from the new modern Eventbrite layout comes in as the full image height rather than the cropped 2:1 image that displays on the Eventbrite page. In our case, that makes for one huge image on the event page) description, organizer and venue info.
It did NOT display the tickets on the page. Instead, we just see the “Powered by Eventbrite” branding beneath the meta.
David PlumsteadParticipantHi guys – I’m not sure what’s been said behind the scenes, but I just wanted to chime in to say that I had the same issue during testing this integration setup.
After a bunch of testing, I have determined that while (with the Additional Options extension) you can import private events, you will get the “unsupported event” notice if you ALSO check the “Make your event invitation-only” option.
The other two private page-related options do not seem to cause this. If this tidbit doesn’t help you, maybe it will be of use for someone else who has run into the same thing.
David PlumsteadParticipantInteresting…
I flipped back to dev where I’m still running twentyseventeen and had all but the three of your plugins enabled and tried to import the same event id I just used a few hours back on Live. It didn’t work.
I was in a rush before a meeting and forgot to try deactivating the additional options plugin that you had suggested. So on dev, I disabled the additional options plugin and voila: It searched for, found, and I was able to select an existing event from the drop-down. I was also successfully able to import via ID.
So that’s curious.
The only settings I changed in that plugin were setting Eventbrite Local to en_CA as we use the .ca localized Eventbrite and I have checked “Display Tickets for Private Events.
I re-enabled the plugin and changed to en_US. It worked. So… something’s up with that plugin and the en_CA locality.
Just to be sure, I logged in with an incognito window and changed the setting to the US. It worked. I changed it back to en_CA and it sits there spinning. Problem identified!
What a wild goosechase!

David PlumsteadParticipantHi Jamie,
While I had tried that initially (on Dev, on Friday), I didn’t do so yesterday as I figured if the one option wasn’t working…
I assumed incorrectly. I was just able to import the event using the event ID on the live site using a test event on our primary Evenbrite account. (Where not everything is up to date yet and all plugins are still active).
So… that’s finally a semblance of progress. Where does that leave us?

David PlumsteadParticipantHi Jamie,
I thought I’d give the setup a go on my live site to see if the (slightly) different setup there would behave any differently. No luck.
I noticed in the Chrome Dev Tools Console a bunch of js errors: https://www.screencast.com/t/ZcgnxFri
System info to follow.
David PlumsteadParticipantCurious. I tried importing from the Event ID and I get
“We were unable to import your Eventbrite event. Please verify the event id and try again.”
