    Hi Brian,

Thank you so much! You were correct sir. The update to the core plugin fixed the issue.

I’m curious how often the main src/view template files get updated? Does that happen only on major releases or more often?

    Thanks for your help!

    Hi Cliff,

Thanks.. yours was the obvious answer and it worked like a charm. 😉

I have another question about ordering on the page and am having a problem with your “required” code, but I’ll start a new ticket for that..

    Thank you so much!

I rolled back to the previous version and anonymous submissions are working again.

I’ll wait for the update to be issued…

    Thanks!

Ok. Looking even further here’s what I’m seeing:

The ability to add organizers and venue via the community form isn’t working unless I’m logged in AND using my SSL url. I’m guessing this is because I have force SSl enabled for admin, so visiting the page from a non-ssl url, even if logged in, can’t show that I am logged in.

However, if I’m not logged in, it won’t work via either an SSL or Non-SSL url.

The community “settings” are correct in admin and I know this was working prior to the last community plugin update.

I’ve noticed a few other forum posts that appear to be related to this.

Anonymous Users Unable to Add New Venues or Organizers

Is there an ETA on the update?

Sorry for all the posts.. Just wanting to get this fixed. 😉

    After looking further,

If I’m logged in and using the SSL URL the add venue and organizer fields appear as they should.

However, if I’m not logged in and using either SSL or non SSL urls, those fields aren’t available.

    Allow anonymous submissions is checked.

I worked through this last night. I did have a problem, but it certainly wasn’t The Events Calendar related.. 😉

Removed some spaces from my theme functions and my RSS validated – with one exception. I’ll create a new ticket for that after I look it over a bit.

    Thanks!

    Hi George,

You’re absolutely awesome! Thank you so much for not only answering my questions but also the depth of your answers.

As it turns out, over the weekend I did what I should’ve done in the first place – installed the free version, read more of your documentation and looked over the code. That, combined with what you wrote above, provided a lot of clarity. I bought the Pro version (will probably add a couple add-ons too).

The plugin code is super clean. The templates and overrides process are clear and seem very flexible. I also appreciate that you’ve listed all the hooks and functions on your site. I’ll stay away from any that are deprecated.;)

As I’m developing this, I may have some questions about what each hook/function does, but other than that, I completely understand that MT is not here to support my custom code. Of course, I’ll move my questions over to the support forums.

Thanks again! What you wrote helped me reach the tipping point!

    Dan
