Yes, I mean a way to see the recurrence pattern is visually. Even with your video tutorials and documentation, I’ve had a difficult time explaining to my clients how to set custom recurrences. Several times mistakes have been made and I’ve found clean up to be difficult. I think if they had a visual reference, it would help. I’ll leave the implementation up to you, but I’d envision something like this:

_VenueVenue
_VenueAddress
_VenueCity
_VenueStateProvinceChristinaParticipantMeghan, My functions.php code is here
http://www.iostudio.net/gravity.htmlTo modify for your purposes, you’ll need to change the form and field IDs to match your form.
If you are wondering about the code, or need explanations of it, these are the sources.
I used Tim’s walkthrough as a start:

ChristinaParticipantFancy! Most of my clients need about 30% of the functionality you will be providing.
I’m nervous about the wysiwyg editor. Hopefully that will be an admin option.
ChristinaParticipantMy dream request would be a way to preview my reocurring event setting before I publish. I wish there was a way to check my setting visually before I click publish
ChristinaParticipantHi Meghan,
No, not completely. I’m storing everything but the venue name. And I didn’t attempt to build in reocurrance. The site launched last week and I’m going to have to manually adjust venue names until the community add-on is available.
If you’d like me to share my code in it’s entirety, let me know and I’ll post in for you.
Thanks,
ChristinaChristinaParticipantMy goodness, Jamie, I have no idea what any of that means 🙂 In my implementation, everything is being properly stored except the venue name. It is always stored as “Unnamed Venue”. But the interesting part is that the permalink for the venue is correct. For instance, If I submit the form with the venue as “Town Hall”, “123 Main Street”, “Anytown USA”, The venue is added as “Unnamed Venue”, “123 Main Street”, “Anytown USA”. But the permalink created is “…/town-hall/”.
ChristinaParticipantI am oh so very close with this. Everything is persisting except the Venue name. It is coming in as “Unnamed Venue”, but strangely, the permalink correctly shows the venue name. I’ve made a screencast of my code and what I’m seeing.

I really appreciate this! I’ve already bought the three pack of ECP, I will almost certainly be upgrading to the 10 pack. Once the community event plugin is available I will be first in line to purchase it and support your development efforts. Thank you!
ChristinaParticipantTrying it now. Organizer is working but I’m getting “Unnamed Venue” in place of the actual venue.
ChristinaParticipantRob, the code you posted on both pages have the same syntax errors. Brian’s code is correct.
ChristinaParticipantI’m in the same state as Brian. Venues aren’t persisting.
Brian, have you seen this post: http://support.makedesignnotwar.com/discussion/comment/5379/#Comment_5379
It settled the venue issue in an older version. Maybe a tweak would fix it for ECP 2
ChristinaParticipantRob, If anyone has gotten ECP 2 working with GF, I’d love to know how. I’ve been struggling with it for weeks. Any chance someone will share the code?
ChristinaParticipantI rebuilt from scratch and it isn’t working for me. I’m getting the title and description correctly. When I test the form it is being correctly added as a draft in the “Events” category. But none of the other data (date, time, venue…) is persisting.
I’ll be the first to admit I’m no programming genius, so if anyone on the support forum gets this working, I’d love to know about it. I need this functionality to work for a site that is going live in the next two weeks.
Or maybe, just maybe, I’ll get super lucky and the Community Events Plugin will be ready within two weeks 🙂
ChristinaParticipantI really like this suggestion too.
ChristinaParticipantShouldn’t the custom post type still be “Events”, or is it something else?
