ParticipantHi Carlos, you put the code where ever you want to the dropdown to appear. In my case, I have a special sidebar for my events pages, so I put the code there.
The color coding is all done with css. For some of the events, I’ve assigned a background color. For other types of events I’ve assigned a border-left. It works very well for the type of calendar I’m doing because each event will have a background-color and border that correspond to the legend.
The guys at tri.be have provided a basic css primer to color code events. It’s located here: https://theeventscalendar.com/coloring-your-category-events/

ParticipantHmmm, that messed up the code. How do I insert code?

ParticipantThis creates a basic dropdown with a submit button. Are you looking for something more than that?
<form action="" method="get">
TribeEvents::TAXONOMY,
'selected' => 0,
'hierarchical' => 1) ); ?>

ParticipantI’m interested in this too!

ParticipantI don’t think this is resolved, but maybe the defect is different than the original post. In my situation, it seems like occasionally a specific reoccurring event goes “rogue” in a variety of ways – spinning icons, strange behaviors and so on.

ParticipantI just upgraded to the 2.0.3 plugin. So everything is in sync. I am now getting the popup, but it is ineffective. or instance, my “corrupt” event is a single event in August. When I try to edit the event and I do get the popup and click “save”. But when I view the event, my file is reverted back to the old one. Ditto for moving it to the trash. I get the popup and select”this event only”. But when i view my calendar the event is still there. This is the same event I was having the spinning problems with before.

ParticipantOk, this is a stupid question but here goes. I don’t have the upload option from my plugins page. I’ve downloaded the 2.0.3 version of pro. What’s the best way to install it. Should I copy over the old files via FTP or try to upload and add it from the WordPress Add New Plugins ui?

ParticipantJoey,
I have the same issue as Anthony (no popup ever happens), but I believe I have the most recent versions. I have Pro 2.0.2 and Base 2.0.3. Can you suggest anything for me? Thanks!

ParticipantI don’t want to take chances with my live site, but I’m going to try to recreate the situation on my localhost. I’ll keep track of the steps and if I can nail it down I will let you know. In the meantime, Rob, can dev provide a snippet of replacement code that would bypass the popup. I’d like to comment out the existing code temporarily and force it to “update this post only”.

ParticipantAh! So that’s it. It’s waiting for a popup (the “this event or all events” one) that never happens. Please tell me what the fix is. Is there a newer version on your site? According to my dashboard, I have the most recent.

ParticipantI hit this bug today for the first time. First off, I am the administrator. I’m using latest ECP. I created a new event with a custom occurrence and a specific end date. Then I tried to delete a single instance of the events. I click the “Trash” button from the Events list view. All instances of the events were deleted, not just one. So I undid that. I tried deleted the event instance from the edit page. I now get the never ending spinning icon. So I deleted all of the events and create new instances of the event. Still problems. I’m in a really unstable state now. All sorts of unexpected things are happening.

ParticipantAnthony, Wow! Thank you for the simple temporary workaround. Your explanation of it, and the real issue, was just perfect. I’ve testing it out on my localhost and it certainly does fix the “Unnamed Venue” issue. I see from your post above that you aren’t satisfied with it, but for most of us, it will give us what we need until the community event plugin arrives. Thank you!

ParticipantRob, I was never able to resolve the issue. I’m in the same state as Jeremy.

ParticipantWow! The Des Moines implementation is truly inspiring! Thank you for sharing it!
