When Event Calendar and Filter Bar are on, category months will not advance

When Event Calendar and Filter Bar are on, category month views will not advance.

Tested with no plugins and 20.14 theme.

If the Filter Bar is off, works like a charm on both tested setups,

I noticed this article in your forum, could it be that the fix you applied to the Event Calendar, 4.5.10.1 did not get made to the Filter Bar 4.5.1?

Just found out the problem only persists in the calendar view.

So, if you have the default display view set to Calendar, it will happen, the next month button will not work, when arrived at via the Event List Widget’s View More… link, when it is set to filter to 1 Category.

If you change the Settings default view to list, the problem will not happen and the next month button works, regardless if the Event List Widget is set to filter 1 or more Categories.

The ‘View More…’ links in the Event List Widget, is most likely used throughout your site in sidebars and footers. This link points to a Category if the widget is set to filter to only 1 category, for example, /event/category/category-name, the next month button will not work on the calendar view, only the list.

If the widget is set to more than one category, the destination link is the parent, /events/, and the next month button will work.

Thanks for reaching out!

I tested this out in my local environment using the list widget set to display 1 category, but I was not able to recreate the issue – the next month link on the calendar view is working correctly on my end, even with Filter Bar enabled. However, I do see what you mean over on wpshindig.com.

Could you please send me a link to a page this is happening on within your site so that I can take a look? I’ll check into the wpshindig site as well…there was a similar issue a while back, but new releases since then should have resolved it. Can you also verify that you are using the latest versions of all of our plugins:

The Events Calendar: 4.6.2

Events Calendar Pro: 4.4.18

Filter Bar: 4.5.1

Community Events: 4.5.6
