    Hello,

We are interested in using the calendar on our site but would like to know if it’s possible to have an entire school term (Australia) display?

In addition is it possible to print the calendar? We have tried others in the past and printing the calendar has been an issue.

We would also like to know if calendar items have the option to be created but left inactive and wait for approval?

    Best regards,
    Nathan

    Hi Nathan,

Thanks for checking out our plugins!

The easiest way to display a school term like that would be to assign the events categories (like “spring term” and “fall term”) and then use the shortcodes that come with Events Calendar Pro to add them to a page on your site. You can include a “category” parameter to only display events from a certain category. If you are referring to displaying an entire term in month view, then currently only one month can be displayed at a time, but you could display all events for a term using list, photo, or map view (note that photo and map view are features of Pro). Alternatively, if you want to dive into some PHP, you can also use the tribe_get_events function to pull a custom events query and specify a date range (the range for the term).

The calendar is not really built to be printed, but there are a few things that you can try to make it more “print-friendly”:

-The free Print, PDF, Email plugin

    -The free DK PDF plugin

This snippet that will add some CSS styles to make the calendar more print-friendly

Month view is included in our free plugin The Events Calendar, so you can test this out on a staging site to see if you can get it working.

Events will not appear on the front end unless they are published, so you can indeed have drafts that will not appear on the front end until published, giving you a chance to review them. If you are looking for users to be able to submit events from the front end of the site (without having admin access), then I would recommend checking out Community Events. You can choose the default status that events are submitted into, allowing admins to approve events before they are published.

We do offer full refunds within 30 days of purchase, so if you’d like to take Events Calendar Pro or Community Events for a test run, feel free to do so! Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

    Thanks,

    Jennifer

Hey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.

    Thanks so much!
