ParticipantVery interested in the newer feature you’ve just released with EVENT CALENDAR PRO
Its the recursive events feature especially. My client offers courses about three times a year, and at NO regular interval. They basically set three dates up for each course at the start of the year and since they follow no timeline per se, its a different interval each month.
What I’m looking for is the ability to actually input multiple event dates on a SINGLE event page that DO NOT follow any kind of interval whatsoever. I asked this question about six months ago, and the support reply I received indicated that something close to this will be released with version 3.12
Notice the beta is out now, will this feature be included?
With thanks, AllanSeptember 3, 2015 at 12:15 pm #1001734George
ParticipantHey Allan!
YES – 3.12 will indeed include support for “free-form recurrence” which should satisfy these needs for you and your client quite nicely 😀
We’re also happy to issue a refund immediately for any reason within 30 days of your purchase, so if for some reason you’re still not satisfied with how the “free-form recurrence” works, reach out immediately for a refund and we’ll issue one to you, no problem.
If you’d like to learn more about the fast-approaching 3.12 release, we sent out an email this morning which you can also view online here → http://goo.gl/kru4CB
Give that a read and let me know if you have any other questions!
Cheers,

ParticipantOK i installed the 3.12 beta from the website. I obviously had to remove the old (unpro) version and do both betas.
I still can’t tell exactly how to input separate dates. There is no recurring timeline to each of these scheduled events. What we have is three dates, arranged for a whole year and I can’t seem to understand how to input them each without having to figure out some sort of timeline between them. Ive read the instructions pretty exhaustively… to me it seems using a couple of ONCE options but I can’t seem to get a date in there.. Lost!
This is really a key feature for our site as I’d hate to have to make a new event for each three events every year they get scheduled. Will buy as soon as released if this can work for us!
cheers Allan

ParticipantRight so I’m part way there. It looks like the CUSTOM option is what I want. I’m having trouble viewing date options on the front end.
On top of that, and I’m sure this is a beta issue, I can’t seem to save events when i make these changes. each time I save it just holds on a blank white page. its possible a small metabox I’m using is conflicting so I will disable that before requesting more help.
Pls allow me the afternoon to comment those add’l things I’ve added. And before I do that, i’ll see what the procedure is for submitting beta comments! Thanks A

ParticipantHey Allan,
Thanks for updating to the betas there – I feel to bad to recommend this right after you did those updates, but today we launched the “official” 3.12 releases. I’d recommend switching to those now instead, it might help with some of your issues here.
As for any comments on code problems, feel free to post those right here in the thread! Anything that turns out to be a bug, I’ll take an report to developers in our bug tracking system.
Cheers!

ParticipantNot sure if I am missing something, but i only have access to the The Events Calendar 3.12 RC1 and Events Calendar PRO 3.12 RC1.
Was a new version of pro accessible to me for some reason?
I did purchase this plugin thinking the feature I’m referring to a while back, and it still shows that available, however the link leads to a page that says that its expired.. as I would expect as I requested a refund when i discovered this feature was coming soon (like now it looks like!).How do I proceed, just buy the plugin and see if it works?
with thanks, AllanSeptember 10, 2015 at 9:48 am #1003778Allan Hendriks
ParticipantThanks!
the white page of death is still showing after I submit a new event and both those plugins have been upgraded. I did eliminate a meta box that I create on events earlier and disabled all other plugins and such and the problem still persisted..
i will try some more things, but now this is an even bigger issue, i hope its something on my end!
With thanks, AllanSeptember 11, 2015 at 8:31 am #1004275George
ParticipantHey Allan,
It is definitely not normal for the white page of death to show! That suggests code conflicts on your site for sure – you might want to run through these troubleshooting steps to help locate the source of this problem: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts/

ParticipantHey
So ive disable EVERYTHING and commented out the meta box I created for each event and still having issues. At least in this case I am getting *some* feedback
here is the error that I am getting-
Fatal error: Unsupported operand types in /home/baseli9/public_html/pelvichealth/wp-content/plugins/events-calendar-pro/src/Tribe/Date_Series_Rules/Year.php on line 102I guess the custom interface is a little difficult to use, but I would think you’ve tried to make it as flexible as possible. I’m wondering if my use of the beta plugin has somehow mucked it up.
Looking forward to hearing back from you, thanks Allan

ParticipantHey Allan,
That error is an interesting one, and would normally trip if we were using (as the error implies) incorrect operators on that line of code, but we’re using string-related operators and only dealing with strings…weird!
Can you share your system information with us? Here’s how to do so → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/
That might contain some relevant information here, as this is an odd issue to arise on your site…
Thank you so much for your patience Allan, I’m sorry about how this thread is still going but am hopeful we’ll get things working soon!
Sincerely,
GeorgeSeptember 15, 2015 at 7:23 am #1005267Allan Hendriks
Participantit should be noted that I reactivate the plugins, as well as changed the theme to twenty fifteen. Still getting combinations of the white screen of death and the single error that I reported before. Thanks for your help – the support alone is amazing and I hope we can work this out! A

ParticipantAllan: thank you for the kind words about our support here, and for sharing this information! I will look through this and try to replicate your problems with some of this additional information in mind now.
In the meantime, you mention getting a White Screen of Death…I’m wondering if any PHP errors pop up on your site if you turn WP_DEBUG on – can you try that? To do so, head your site’s wp-config.php file and change this line of code:
define('WP_DEBUG', false);to this:
define('WP_DEBUG', true); That will display PHP errors if any exist, which might be quite useful here. If any errors pop up, you can copy and paste them into the thread here or into Gists at http://gist.github.com.
Thank you for your patience, Allan! I will continue investigating this and look forward to your feedback about what you found from activating WP_DEBUG.
Sincerely,
GeorgeSeptember 17, 2015 at 10:02 am #1006079Allan Hendriks
ParticipantTurned on the wp_debug as well as WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY
still getting this error and nothing else
Fatal error: Unsupported operand types in /home/baseli9/public_html/pelvichealth/wp-content/plugins/events-calendar-pro/src/Tribe/Date_Series_Rules/Year.php on line 102
all my plugins have been disabled and i have also performed this test using twenty fifteen, same result

ParticipantAlso noticing some issues that *could* be related, but its hard to tell if this is the native functionality of the recurrence rules.
Its seems to not be saving the recurred dates that I am making, or only *some* of the information. I’ll fill out the month and frequency, date and time and month input elements in the recurrence rule, save the event, but on reload it will only show that info AFTER I switch it from custom to something else and back end. Same result no matter how many recurrence rules I make.
not sure if this is a JS problem or not. Is this helping?
Again, I can’t get over how great your service is – especially considering I haven’t even paid for the product. Hope we can sort this out so I can support those that support me!\With thanks Allan

ParticipantAmending to the last message, I’m ALSO noticing another thing with the recurrence rules. Say I made 3 different rules. No matter what options i set for each of those recurring rules, it will not save all of the settings I make in there. Regardless of what settings I use, it will only show the first row of input elements – I can’t actually see the add’l form elements underneath…
I’d attach a screen shot but I can’t see an upload option here..
