ParticipantHi,
I am a Pro subscriber, but not on this particular site. I’m hoping you can help.
I use The Events Calendar on dozens of sites with the Divi theme. I have never encountered this problem before. The maps for my venues are not showing up.
Go to the above link and then choose any of the events in the list.
I’ve disabled all other plug-ins, but to no avail.
Any thoughts?
Thank you!
Bill

MemberGood evening Bill and welcome back!
Thank you for reaching out to us.
We are sorry to hear about the maps not displaying on your site.
I would love to help you with this topic. As of June 22nd Google made some pretty important changes on how it handles Google Maps API (especially for wildcards API).
The first thing that I would recommend would be to read the following attentively: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/setting-up-your-google-maps-api-key/
As a first troubleshooting step, could you please provide us with your complete system information in a private reply using the instructions found in the following link?

Best regards,

MemberG0od evening Bill,
Thank you for writing back and for providing your system information.
As I suspected, the issue is caused by a Google API authorization issue.
You can see it in Chrome if you use the Google Developper tools.Google Maps API error: RefererNotAllowedMapError https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/error-messages#referer-not-allowed-map-error Your site URL to be authorized: http://bnchoirs.org/event/save-the-date-opening-gala-concert/
In other words, I would still recommend going through the following article in great details first: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/setting-up-your-google-maps-api-key/
Once setup correctly, your maps should return.
Let me know how that goes.
Best regards,

MemberGood evening Bill,
Thank you for writing back.
I am sorry to hear the content of the article was not helpful to you.To answer your question, the displaying of the maps is not 100% within our control.
Up until June 22nd, no Google API key was required in most cases. What ended up happening most of the time is that people were using their web host’s API key (not always knowingly).
There are still instances were that will work, but because of Google’s June 22nd changes of policy, things are now much more regulated: hence your issue.
So in short, I am not 100% sure why you are getting that error message, but what is clear is that Google is denying access for it on your install.
I would recommend asking the good folks at Google in parallel what you can do to regulate your API key.In the meantime, I am also noticing that you are using a Google Map plugin as well.
I think it would be worth testing if that creates a conflict or not. A temporary simple deactivation would do the trick.
Finally, if that all fails, could you also please go through our testing for conflicts procedure (preferably in a staging/dev environment or local install of your WordPress website) and let us know what you find out.
Basically the goal here is to revert back to a bare WordPress installation to see if the problem persists. It also allows us to pinpoint what the cause of the issue is.
Let me know how that goes.

ParticipantFound it! There is a conflict with the following plug-in: PayPal Donation Pro
Unfortunately I need this plug-in until I can find a viable substitute that doesn’t conflict.
Thanks for your help!

MemberGood evening Bill,
Thank you for doing the tests and for writing back to share your findings.
I am sorry to hear about that conflict.
I will relay this to our Dev team, to see if it is possible to fix on our end.
In addition to that, I would recommend contacting the plugin’s author. We will contact you as soon as a fix is found on our end. If you could do the same on your end, that would be fantastic.
Best regards,
Geoff B.

ParticipantHi Geoff,
Thanks for the follow-up. I am using a different PayPal plug-in — PayPal Donations. It’s working fine now.

MemberGood evening Bill,
Awesome! I will still keep the bug ticket open on our end.
As your original donation plugin has a fairly low number of users for now, hopefully this will not impact too many users.
But the important part is that you found a viable workaround.
Kudos for that! For now, I am going to close this thread, but you are welcome back in our forums anytime!
Cheers,
