ParticipantDo I have to go out on the web and search for events? I could just copy and past the events just as easy. Can someone explain in simple terms how to use this feature? Otherwise, not sure it’s worth the money and time. Thanks

ModeratorHi Deanna,
Welcome and thank you for reaching out. I would be glad to assist here 🙂
If you take a look at our ‘New User Primer: iCal Importer‘ article, we break down how to install, activate, and setup the basic features for the iCal Importer plugin. If you jump to ‘Running a one-time import with the iCal Importer‘ article, we provide information on how to import events related to iCal URLs.
Essentially, you don’t necessarily need to ‘go out on the web and search for events’, but you do need to identify iCal URLs that list events relative to what you’d like to list on your WordPress site.
I hope this clarifies how the plugin works and please feel free to reply with any other questions or concerns you might have. Enjoy the rest of your day.
Cheers!

ParticipantBut I still need to go to every venue and event website in the state that I live in to dig up a url and some venues don’t have the iCal capability. One venue would only allow me to get the iCal url for each event individually and not as a list.

ModeratorHi Deanna,
I’m truly sorry if the description of our iCal Importer led you to believe it automatically “fetches” all available iCal URLs and their corresponding events.
I’m really limited on my knowledge of how this plugin works from a technical standpoint, so I’m not sure if it’s possible to do what you’ve described. I would at the least recommend visiting our UserVoice Feature Ideas page and submit your feature request there.
Another route would be to view our list of customizers and see if any are up to the task. If worst comes to worst, we offer a 30-day no hassle refund. Should that be the case, visit our Refunds page and we’d be happy to process that for you.
Again, I apologize if any of our product descriptions/screenshots gave you the wrong impression regarding the capabilities and features our plugin(s) offer. We are always looking for ways to improve in every aspect of our existence, so if you have any specific feedback for us on how we can do better in the future, please feel free to comment with your concerns. Thanks for everything, please keep me updated, and look at the bright side… it’s FRIDAY!
Cheers!

ParticipantThanks so much for your advice. I may see if I could swap out iCal for a different add-on.

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
