I am using the Events Calendar PRO to create a website for my town to be able to see all of the local events in one place. With all the issues I’ve experienced, I’m just wondering if that was not the intended use of this calendar. I have been completely defeated by this plugin and although I hate to start over, if the issues I’m having are not resolved quickly, I will need to request a refund so I can go a different route. It sucks to spend money and so much time on a product that works so poorly.

    Issues I need resolved ASAP:
Calendar takes over blog – cannot have a blog while using this calendar on my home page.
    Aggregator importing duplicate events
Aggregator not importing all events (many of the Facebook pages STILL say Unknown)
I need to have more than one calendar (i.e. one for main events, another for other events, etc.)

In addition, this forum style of support is inefficient, frustrating, and unprofessional.

Hi, Amy. Sorry you’re experiencing these issues.

In our forums we keep our threads focused on just one issue at a time to ensure we fully answer each of your questions/issues. Please keep this in mind for the future, and thanks for your understanding.

You should definitely be able to have a Blog Page in addition to the Events Page. I’d suggest following these recommended troubleshooting steps for your own site:

There might be some new updates available. Could you please make sure all your Modern Tribe plugins (and WordPress core) are at their latest versions?

Once you verify you’re on the latest versions, please test to see if the issue is still happening for you.

If it is, please follow our Testing for Conflicts Guide (basically switch to Twenty Seventeen theme and deactivate all plugins and custom code other than Modern Tribe plugins) and see if that helps narrow down the cause of this.

Of course, we always recommend restorable database and file backups before modifying anything on your site.

If it doesn’t, please enable WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG (which will create a file on your server at /wp-content/debug.log if there are any WP_DEBUG messages) and share any debug messages you see while trying to replicate this issue and doing other things on your site relevant to this ticket (such as visiting your site’s home page, events page, single-event pages, and anything else you can think to do).

Then, please share your System Information (while in Testing for Conflicts Mode) in a Private Reply. That will give me a lot of extra information to help troubleshoot this.

You might also see if you can spot any console errors at your site. (If needed, you may reference our KB article Using Google Chrome Developer Tools.)

Duplicate import errors were common prior to September. If you setup these imports prior to then, I’d recommend deleting and re-setting-up each one.

If it’s not a Facebook or Google Calendar import but instead an iCal import, another possibility is that it’s not conforming to the iCal Spec and is missing the UID for each event or possibly changing it upon each generation of the iCal feed: https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc5545#section-3.8.4.7

Our plugin creates one master calendar, but you can create the appearance of multiple calendars by using Event Categories.

    Examples:

There are additional methods and documentation at our Can You Have Multiple Calendars? KB article.

Note that this functionality is available in the free/core version of The Events Calendar. You would only need to buy one of our add-ons if you wanted those extra features (e.g. Map View from Events Calendar PRO).

I hope this info helps. Let me know if you have any follow-up questions.

Hey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.

    Thanks so much!
