ParticipantI just installed the The Events Calendar PRO next to the free version which I already used.
After activating PRO I got a message asking me to update the free version, but it is already (4.0.6). Weird

MemberHi,
Thanks for using our plugins. I can help out here.
Not sure why it would do that. That is all WordPress’s coding to check for updates.
We are releasing a new release soon to 4.0.7 to fix some bugs, maybe it will stop after that.
Let me know if it does not.
Cheers

MemberHi,
Not sure what we can do to help here that is all run through WordPress for the Free Version of the Events Calendar. So it would be on WordPress’s side causing the issue.
If you would like help can you provide your system info following this guide in a private reply.
https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/
Also, you could run through these testing for conflicts guide and see if that narrows it down to a cause:
Thanks

ParticipantI just deleted both The Events Calendar and PRO, and tried to add them again from scratch.
First I wanted to activate The Events Calendar, but I got this error message:

The first sentence is Dutch which says: “Plugin could not be activated because it causes a fatal error.”

MemberHey Fabian,
Thanks for reporting this. We are aware of these issues with the update to version 4.1 and we are really sorry for the hassle this might cause. We are actively working to solve these issues. I’ve linked this thread to the bug report in our backlog, so you’ll get notified here when we have some update or fix for this.
Thanks for the patience while we work on this,
Best,

MemberAlso,
It appears to be a language issue causing this.
I would recommend using the 4.0.7 version of the plugins until this is fixed.
You can download the older versions from your account here on theeventscalendar.com and older versions of the core plugin here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/the-events-calendar/developers/

ParticipantI now have the same error with 4.0.7 as well.. Could be that there was something wrong already, because before updateing I got a server error 500 when I trying to deactivate/activate The Events Calendar or the PRO plugin.
But now this:

MemberHi,
That error is saying it is not finding the main file for TEC.
If that is the cause it could be a bad zip file.
Can you check in the zip file you are uploading to make sure this file is there:
plugins/the-events-calendar/src/Tribe/Main.php
Or check on your server that file is there too.

ParticipantI reuploaded both plugins manually via WordPress and both are activated! Looks like it’s working 🙂
Thanks
