ParticipantHi, following the recent announcement from Facebook about restricting Event API in response to the Cambridge Analytics data breach case, will this affect event import in to the Events Calendar Plugin? Hopefully not because it only brings across event info, date and time and not participants or interested party details as far as i am aware. But please can you confirm if and how The paid Events Aggregator add on will be affected? This is the primary reason i use the Events Calendar on Word Press websites.
Thank you.here is the FB press release https://newsroom.fb.com/news/2018/04/restricting-data-access/

MemberHi Nick!
Thanks for taking your time to report this.
Facebook recently announced a range of changes to their APIs (the protocols we use to ‘speak’ to their servers and retrieve event information) which are having an affect on Event Aggregator users.
As a result, some Facebook imports that previously worked are not currently possible. Further details can be found in the following article > https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/ea-fb-privacy-policy/ We will keep you updated as the situation develops.
We appreciate your patience in the meantime.

ParticipantI see, so basically the Event Aggregator no longer works to pull your own events from a page you are an admin on, onto your own website to publish your own events on your own website? Is that right please?
i understand this is Facebooks doing, but if the event agregator is now redundant for FB, which is a massive fail for me and ‘my’ information, i’ll have to request a refund as i’ve only had it a month or so for this specific reason.

MemberHi Nick,
Thanks for following up with this topic.
Unfortunately, due to the most recent restrictions from Facebook, Event Aggregator is effectively blocked from importing events from Facebook.
We’ve set up the following page where you can get up-to-date information on the current status of Event Aggregator’s service > https://theeventscalendar.com/event-aggregator-status/
You might have received an email from us telling you about the current situation.
I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
You can ask for a full refund at https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/refund-policy/
Another option, if you’d like, is to exchange it for another of our plugins. Please let me know about it.

ParticipantThanks Victor, this has not helped your very useful product 🙁 i understand their reaction but hopefully they will revert to a level of access that allow copying direct into WordPress Events. i’ll review next week with my technical team. Thanks for the updates.
