MemberHi, Edgars. Sorry you’re experiencing this. This looks like a classic situation of a theme or plugin conflict.
However, we don’t assist with such conflicts, per our Scope of Support / Terms. Additionally, since this is for iCal Importer, now a legacy product, please use Event Aggregator instead.
Additionally, please make sure all your Modern Tribe plugins (and WordPress core) are at their latest versions.
- Downloads / Version Numbers
- License Keys
- TEC Automatic Updates
- or TEC Manual Updates
- WordPress core updates
You may also want to try enabling WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG.
You might also see if you can spot any console errors at your site. (If needed, you may reference our KB article Using Google Chrome Developer Tools.)
Let us know what you find out.
Thanks.

MemberPlease clarify which of these is your situation:
- the import DOES run every 30 minutes but the Last Import column IS NOT updating for automatic/recurring imports
- the import DOES NOT run every 30 minutes and the Last Import column IS correct
You may need to do some testing to confirm.
Thanks for your efforts here.

ParticipantHey Edgars,
Thanks for updating things here.
1. To help us investigate your issues at this point, can you copy and paste your site’s full, un-edited System Information into a reply here as per the “Sharing Information Manually” section of this page → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/#sharing-manual
You’ve already shared information, but now that you’ve updated the software on your site that information could be different in ways relevant to these issues.
2. In your screenshot it says the last import was 3 hours ago. In the 3 hours since the last import, had there been any new events posted to the original calendar that should have been imported? Or were there no updates to that calendar since the last import which was 3 hours ago? (at the time of the screenshot)
3. How much traffic does your site get, roughly? Do you get many people coming to your set every hour, for example? Or is the traffic very very low, like a few people a day at most?
Please let us know what you think in regards to each of the three questions above, and we’ll be happy to help!
Cheers,
GeorgeNovember 28, 2016 at 11:13 pm #1198913Edgars

MemberThanks for those details.
Manual importing is the same as automatic importing except one is triggered by your click and one is triggered by WP Cron. Due to the low traffic on your site, and the fact that manual importing works but scheduled imports do not, I’m guessing WP Cron could be the issue here.
WP Cron can be tricky and can sometimes have issues, but we cannot assist in troubleshooting them, per our Scope of Support / Terms.
You might be able to use a plugin like https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-crontrol/ (third-party, not guaranteed or supported by us) to dig a little deeper into this.
If you need some coding help, you may want to ask your developer or reference our documentation and list of known customizers.
Other than that information, it could be helpful to follow these recommended troubleshooting steps:
Follow our Testing for Conflicts Guide (basically switch to Twenty Sixteen theme and deactivate all plugins and custom code other than Modern Tribe plugins) and see if that helps narrow down the cause of this. (I’m guessing you’d have to leave your site in Testing for Conflicts mode for anywhere from a few hours to days to thoroughly test, which I understand is not ideal. I’m just giving you that heads up.)
You could also try enabling WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG and share any debug messages you see while changing tickets quantity, navigating your site’s home page, events page, single-event pages, and any other of your site’s pages relevant to this ticket.
Let us know what you find out.
Thanks.

ParticipantHi!
I get this error in WP Cron plugin: cURL error 28: Connection timed out after 3000 milliseconds
November 30, 2016 at 2:59 pm #1200033Cliff
MemberGood job. Thanks for finding and sharing that.
Please check with your host if your version of cURL installed on your server has support for SNI (server name indication).
Please also check to see if your server firewall is blocking the access.
