I have Event Calendar PRO and Community Events installed. For some reason the users that are registered are not able to Edit or Delete their submitted Events. The Edit button shows but clicking it just redirects to the calendar. Clicking the delete button does nothing but hide the delete button. I have tired different rights but nothing will bring up the Community Event window in edit mode.

Hi, Thomas. Sorry you’re experiencing this. I wasn’t able to recreate this issue on my local testing sites. Therefore, I’d suggest following our recommended troubleshooting steps:

Could you please make sure all your Modern Tribe plugins (and WordPress core) are at their latest versions?

Once you verify you’re on the latest versions, please test to see if the issue is still happening for you.

If it is, please follow our Testing for Conflicts Guide (basically switch to TwentySixteen theme and deactivate all plugins and custom code other than Modern Tribe plugins) and see if that helps narrow down the cause of this.

If it doesn’t, please enable WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG and share any PHP errors you see while changing tickets quantity, navigating your site’s home page, events page, single-event pages, and any other of your site’s pages relevant to this ticket.

Then, please share your System Information (while in Testing for Conflicts mode).

You might also see if you can spot any console errors at your site. (If needed, you may reference our KB article Using Google Chrome Developer Tools.)

Let us know what you find out.

    Thanks.

I add the capability manager because the edit button was not working and another user had posted that this plugin fixed the rights for them and this plug-in did indicate to me that since I am only allowing logged in users to post, their role should be contributor as that role has the rights to events.

I am having my hosting site restore to last nights backup to remove all of the changes by bullet proof. BP writes a lot of code in htaccess

I have had restricted plugin turned on, turned off, and uninstalled with no change. I reinstalled it when you asked me to run in debug mode.

twenty sixteen made no diff other than losing my logout button. luckily i found one, but I can go thru it again after they restore all of my files. I am using the total theme as it claimed complete compatibility.

This is why I gave up on the events calendar the 1st time. Your stuff does not work but it’s all the other software causing the issue. I can’t be constantly worried that a new feature is going to break the calendar.

Thanks for your efforts here. I know it can be frustrating to troubleshoot issues like this.

Please send me a screenshot of these settings: wp-admin > Events > Settings > Community tab > Members section, My Events section, and Access Control section

So, based on the fact that the buttons come and go with the theme, I changed my menu option at the top of the page to a custom link using http://myfergusoncalendar.com/events/community/list. This takes me to a list based on the user. The button issue on the page is a theme issue that either I need code under or they are not constructing the url properly for some reason to get to the /edit screen. I do currently have Bullet Proof running and the list works.

I did not re-addd my Sucuri firewall as that broke the navigation to http://myfergusoncalendar.com/events/community/add completely. Any advice on this

I am talking to total theme about a couple of things.

    Hi Cliff.

Take a good look at the jpg I sent you. If it were trying to display upcoming events, the button would say “View past events” because that button changes depending on whether you are viewing past or upcoming. But the button says “View upcoming events” so I am trying to view past events and the message says ‘There are no upcoming events in your queue”. Pretty straightforward right? The message has to change depending on the view type. Promote the issue to your dev team. They will understand.

I will need email address to give you logins but not sure what you hope to accomplish. The Edit and Remove buttons are pretty obviously being added by the theme as they are not there in 2016 theme. I will address that with them.

You can have the zip file. That is publicly available at the theme forest but it’s too large to upload here. Download it here: http://wpexplorer-themes.com/total/docs-category/getting-started/

The download is only available to people who have purchased Total theme, which I have not, but if you’re good handling all that with them, that’s great.

So is that message the last outstanding issue? What URL are you at when you see that message?

So it would probably violate my agreement to send you mine then?

Hopefully you will open a change request on the incorrect previous message?

I’m not sure what you meant by your very last question but it navigates successfully to the event: Navigated to http://myfergusoncalendar.com/event/my-test-event/

Then to the home page when I press Edit: Navigated to http://myfergusoncalendar.com/

So the button is not even trying to go to: http://myfergusoncalendar.com/community/edit with an event id

It should be naviagting to: http://myfergusoncalendar.com/events/community/edit/event/2543/

I am convinced this is a theme issue. Either they are doing it wrong or I have missed a configuration but I have scoured the settings. So I opened a ticket with them.

    Thanks for you help.
