Hi there.
I just wonder. Your free version doesn’t work well with the theme Twenty fourteen, and I just wonder if the Pro version does. The problems is that the featured pictures dosesn’t show up in the event list ( it did earlier, now it is only a blank space where the image should be)) and when you chose the events to show in you blog loop, it shows up in the order of the event date, not when they are published, and they are also repeated twice. That means that now matter how many new posts you publish, the events will always stand on top of your blog loop, until the event date is passed. Earlier this worked as normal. Will this be fixed if I go for the Pro version? I have testes it with both theme 2016 and 2015, and they both work fine, so the problem is theme 2014. If the Pro version doesn’t handle this either, I should start to look for a new plugin.
Thanks in advance for your reply.Best regards
August 3, 2017 at 6:47 am #1329997CourtneyMemberHello Kari
I’m sorry you aren’t getting a good image experience with 2014. That certainly isn’t a normal result. I just tested it myself and was seeing images display as they should.
Can you start by going through our Testing for Conflicts Guide https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts/?Β I am wondering if you might have a plugin or theme conflict.Β Also, double check for any other updates available (Dashboard Β» Updates).Β
Please report conflicts or get more help resolving the images issue at The Events Calendar.
If you can, please take the time to confirm in your post that you’ve run through our Testing for Conflicts steps prior to contacting us–this will save us a step and help us to get your issue resolved that much quicker! π
The order of events posting also seems abnormal. Please share that in the forums as well.
Thanks
Courtney πAugust 3, 2017 at 9:48 am #1330221Kari LangvaGuestThanks for responding. I have already tested it with theme Twenty Sixteen and Twenty Fifteen, without any change in plugins, and it all worked fine with both themes. When I switch back to Twenty Fourteen, the failure s still there. I have two websites btw, the same problem on both of them, One of them I hardly have any plugins on at all, just using it more as a test page. I deactivated all the plugins at that page, and the problem were still there. But since you get it correct, I will take some new tests and come back here with the result.
August 3, 2017 at 4:17 pm #1330443CourtneyMemberHi Kari
Thanks. One other thing you could try is to regenerate your thumbnails using https://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/.
Keep me posted, we definitely want this working.
Thanks
Courtney πAugust 13, 2017 at 5:33 am #1334670Kari LangvaGuestHi again.
I have now done everything due to solving this problem.
– Changed to Twenty sixteen, which solves the problem, so the conflict is definitely due to Twenty Fourteen.
– Deactivated all plugins except The Events Calendar. The problem still occur.
– Activated “Regenerate Thumbnails” – problem still occur.I will now delete The Events plugin and reinstall it and see it this solves it. If this doesnt help, I will try customize the event template and use that one. If I dont manage to customize it the way I want it, I just have to fine another event plugin. But I give this option a try first π
Thanks for your help so far π
August 14, 2017 at 4:11 am #1334833CourtneyMemberHi Kari
I’d also suggest you delete 2014 and reinstall it as a theme entirely. Since it was working for me on a fresh install, I’m wondering if the theme is missing some key files. ?
Please keep me posted how this goes.
Thanks
Courtney πAugust 19, 2017 at 6:26 pm #1337850Kari LangvaGuestNow I have also deleted the theme 2014 and reinstalled it. The problem is still there. Since You got it correct when you tried the theme, and I have 3 totally different (due to plugins ect) websites with this mistake, could it be something I have done wrong with the settings? The preview of the featured picture in the calendar list worked fine before the last main update, and I haven’t changed anything in the setting, so I can’t see what could be wrong in the setting though. It’s just a mystery.
Btw, if I mark the event as featured event, the picture shows up in the list as it should. So the mystery is why the “event list” manage to pick up the picture ina featured event, but not in a regular event.
August 21, 2017 at 8:48 am #1338140CourtneyMemberHi Kari
Can you send us the System Info for one of the sites having this issue, and a link to the Events list page with the error on it? I’d like to take a closer look.
Thanks
Courtney πAugust 27, 2017 at 6:54 pm #1341017Kari LangvaGuestUps, sorry. I for some reason havent seen your reply.
Here is the link to the event calendar on one of the websites: http://www.alexanderrybaknews.com/events/
The two others are not public, only visible for members. Not sure what you mean with system. If you mean website host, the two websites which are not public, my host is Hostgator. Will have to check for the open one, but it is not Hostgator. It’s a German host, Fondex or something.

Eventlist: http://www.alexanderrybaknews.com/events/August 29, 2017 at 7:20 am #1341716CourtneyMemberI’m sorry Kari
Because you started this thread without the System Info, I am unable to view it. Can you manually copy/paste it here for us? You can mark this thread as private if you’d like (when you submit it via the website, not by email)
Thanks
Courtney πAugust 29, 2017 at 10:25 pm #1342179Kari LangvaGuestI can’t see any option to make this private. I can only choose between this:
– get notiified when updates….by email
– reply to this thread…. help
– report the same issue and get help
and status:
My issue is resolve
-I still need assistance. So I just have to take the chance and post it anyway.
