ParticipantHi,
I’m sorry to harp on this, but the bug listed at https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/bug-event-start-date-end-date-reset-when-errors-returned/ has been unfixed for almost two months. Can you give us any indication when this will be taken care of?
Thanks.

MemberHey Jonathan,
Thanks for re-opening this and keeping us honest on it.
We are indeed working on it and actually have it slated for our next maintenance release, which is scheduled to release next week. I’ll mark this thread Pending Fix and be sure to update it when the release has shipped.
Thanks for your patience and sticking with us on this while we work it out!

ParticipantHey Geoff,
Based on the blog post at https://theeventscalendar.com/release-the-events-calendar-4-0-7-premium-add-ons/ it looks like you released a fix for this in your most recent update, but when I try to update it doesn’t show that 4.0.6 is available. I also checked the download screen on my account with the same result. Any suggestions?
Thanks.

ParticipantHowdy Johnathan,
I’m happy to clarify. We forgot to release Community Events 4.0.6! Sorry, this was a weird fluke. Everyone who normally would launch a plugin was rushing to get bags packed for the meetup in Costa Rica, and this slipped through the cracks. As soon as it’s actually launched you’ll get a notification that its ready to download, which should happen later this week.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Cheers!

ParticipantHi Brook,
We updated the plugin to 4.0.6 and unfortunately, even though the changelog said the bug was fixed, the date is still being reset when errors exist. Are you all able to see that if you test on your end?
And no need to test on the site we provided since we implemented our fix again after we saw it still wasn’t working for us.
Thanks.

MemberHey Jonathan,
I’ve been testing this on my end and can’t seem to replicate the issue when working with the latest versions:
- The Events Calendar 4.0.7
- Events Calendar PRO 4.0.7
- Community Events 4.0.6
…and using the default WordPress Twenty Sixteen theme.
Here are the steps I used for testing:
- Make sure I have the latest plugins installed
- Head to the Community Events submission form (/events/community/add)
- Change the start and end date and times for the event
- Submit the event
- Get the errors that required information is missing
- Check the submitted start and end date and times to see if they have reset, which they have not
Is there anything else outside of that I might be missing? Let me know and we can go from there.
Thanks!

ParticipantSorry, we actually had to revert to an old version of the paid plugins since we ran into issues with the update. Once that’s fixed we’ll update the plugins so you can have a look.

MemberHey Jonathan,
Ack, yeah, I do see that issue on your site. Are yeah potentially able (and willing) to set up a development site so we can test with the 4.1 plugins without interfering the live site?
If so, let’s start with nothing but The Events Calendar, Events Calendar PRO and Community Events installed on the default Twenty Sixteen theme, then try to replicate the issue from there before diving in any further.
Thanks!

MemberHey Jonathan,
Thanks for following up and for setting up the test site — that’s a huge help!
Yes, let’s try reactivating one plugin at a time and testing the form with each activated plugin. That’s the best way to pinpoint which plugin is conflicting. From there, it’s probably best to reach out to that plugin author directly, but I’d be happy to check it out as well for anything we can possibly do on our end.
Thanks!
