MemberHey Jonathan,
Thanks for following up!
I am having a heck of time trying to recreate the same issue but do clearly see it on your test site. Are you, by chance, using a the community events shortcode on that test page? If you could paste your system information (Events > Settings > Help) for the test site here as a private reply, that would help me compare what might be difference in our configurations.
The duplicate organizer thing is definitely a bug and something we’re hoping to patch in our next maintenance release. It very well could be related, though I see that issue in my test site and not the other. Very strange indeed! Let’s see what I can glean from the test site’s system info and go from there.
Thanks for hanging with me on this — super perplexing!

MemberThanks so much, Jonathan!
Do you have any means of deactivating those MU plugins? That is the only difference I see in our settings at this moment.

ParticipantUnfortunately, I don’t think so. Those plugins are required by WP Engine, the hosting provider.

MemberHey Jonathan,
I’ve been doing my best to recreate the issue using the exact settings you provided in the system information and am still coming up short.
There are two differences between our test sites at the moment:
- tribeEventsTemplate = calendar-layout.php
- The MU plugins
Are you using either a custom layout for the calendar or have your default calendar template under Events > Settings > Display to something other than the default event template? I haven’t seen that calendar-layout.php template before, so I’m wondering if there is something in there that could be driving this issue. The other reason I ask is because the layout of your Community Events submission page looks different than mine (screenshot), which is the default on a fresh install.
I’ll certainly keep trying but let’s keep trying to narrow down the differences in our sites in the hopes that we can pinpoint the specific cause.
Thanks!

ParticipantHi Geoff,
Thanks for the quick response again. In regards to the screenshot, the only difference I see is the category display. That may be caused by the fact that we’re using subcategories, which seems to cause the layout to change slightly. Did you see something else that didn’t look the same to you?
As far as the layout, the Events Template dropdown reads “Default Events Template”. I also searched through the theme files for calendar-layout.php and got nothing. Is there somewhere else I should be looking?
I did notice today that the issue only seems to show up when I’m not logged in. Have you tested without being logged in? The most visible difference between the form at that point is the reCAPTCHA that shows up when not logged in.
Thanks again for working so hard to help us get this figured out. Let me know if there is anything else I can do.

MemberBy jove, you nailed it! It was the difference between being logged in and out. Nice work and thanks for staying with me on that — serious props to you. 🙂
I have added this to the ticket we have logged in our system to address this. While I do not have a target date for that, I have indeed added this thread to the ticket and will be sure to follow up with you as I learn more.
Thanks so much!

ParticipantThat’s great news Geoff and thanks again for working with me on it! So just to confirm, you plan to fix both the date reset and the duplicate organizer bugs in your next release? And if so, do you have any idea of when that would be?
I just want to make sure I can communicate these things to our client.

MemberYeah, we are planning to work on both of those in the same push. Looking at the ticket, it is currently set to “TBD,” I do know, however, that we are planning to ship our next maintenance release early next week and immediately scope the next one, which would be two weeks out from that. I’ve bumped the priority of the ticket up so it shows up higher on the radar as we do the scoping and will keep you posted from there.
Thanks man!
