If I use the Events Calendar (free version) and the Community Events plugin, how would payment work for the users? If I want them to pay to add a listing, how would that work?

Thanks for reaching out! Unfortunately, Community Events does not include support for paid event submissions at this time. However, this feature is slated to be added as part of a future product update! You can keep up with the latest updates on this feature in development by following its UserVoice page:
If paid event submissions are a critical feature for your intended project, I’d suggest enlisting the services of a qualified third-party developer to assist you in building this feature out. We maintain a list of third-party developers on our Knowledgebase who are happy to take on projects related to our plugins–feel free to reach out to any one of them to discuss your project details!
