    Hello!

We have a variety of needs and would like advice about which combination of your products to use.

    1) We hold our own events, so we do need both a calendar solution and a ticketing/RSVP solution. We do not charge for the events, but we do need to be able to customize the fields on the event registrations, so we are looking to get Event Tickets Pro.
    – Does Events Ticket pro have a waiting list feature?
    – Does Events Ticket pro have the ability for users to check off that they have read terms and conditions?

    2) In addition to our own events, we want our website to be a clearinghouse for community service events that are family friendly. We see Community Calendar as a perfect way for local nonprofits to submit their events to a calendar (We don’t need community tickets because we don’t anticipate that need to exist for others).
    – I don’t see wanting to have Events Calendar AND Community Calendar (Don’t need 2)… so I would htink we would just put our own events on Community CalendarWill Event Tickets Pro work with Community Calendar for OUR events?

Given or set of needs as described above, what would you recommend?

    Thanks,

    Dan

    Hi Dan.

I just replied to your other question about waitlist feature.

I’ll answer these 2 questions here.

Event Tickets Plus is our paid add-on plugin that upgrades the functionality of our free Event Tickets plugin.

Event Tickets Plus enables you to sell tickets via one of our supported eCommerce platforms. The free plugin only enables free RSVP-type tickets.

You can view our roundup/comparison of all the eCommerce plugins ET+ supports.

Our plugin uses your eCommerce plugin of choice, but your eCommerce plugin isn’t displayed for shopping pages. Please reference our Making Tickets KB article (screenshots are from an install using WooCommerce) for an idea how to create tickets for an event.

Site visitors would purchase tickets from each event’s single page/view (e.g. example.com/events/rogers-day-at-the-zoo/) — if there is an RSVP to submit or ticket to purchase.

The order confirmation email will include a QR code that can be scanned to “check in” someone at the door at the time of the event. You can read more at Tickets: Managing your orders and attendees and Making Tickets.

Also, you can add Attendee Meta questions, like a required checkbox that they read the Terms and Conditions. You should be able to enter HTML to create an a href link with target=”_blank” to open the link in a new window.

I’m not sure if by “Community Calendar” you’re actually meaning Community Events, but if so…

Our Community Events add-on can be restricted to logged-in users or allow anonymous submissions. Basically, the events created via the CE front-end form become regular events on The Events Calendar. It’s just that the submission can be held for moderation and/or later edited via the front-end by the logged-in user who posted it.

As I stated, the CE events are like “regular” events on your calendar. Therefore, if you have our PRO add-on, you could display them on a Map View or create recurring events or have Additional Fields on the front-end CE form.

Last but not least, we have a pretty great Refund Policy so you can buy one or many of our add-ons and thoroughly test them.

Let me know if you have any follow-up questions.

Thanks for reply! My remaining question is surrounding the use is Community Events along with your Pro addin… if I don’t get the pro add in, but do buy CE, do I need The Event Calendar installed? Unclear if CE is an add on or of it replaces the Event calendar.

    Sure thing.

The Events Calendar (TEC) free/core plugin is required for all our add-ons…

… unless it’s Event Tickets Plus (ET+), which is an add-on for our free/core Event Tickets (ET) plugin.

So you’ll need TEC regardless of whether you buy PRO, Community Events, or both.

I hope that clears it up!

Great! Thank you. This set of solutions is EXACTLY what we have been looking for. Already installed The Events Calendar. Awaiting approval on Events Tickets Plus as a non-profit. Excited to put all of this into action for Kids’ Compassion Project!

Last question… for now. If I install Event Tickets now, I’ll be able to upgrade to ET+ later without moving any data, right? I just don’t want to replicate any work if I have to reinstall the ET+ program but have already started to set up events, etc.

    For sure!

In fact, you’ll need to keep Event Tickets plugin active to use ET+, since it’s just an add-on, not a replacement plugin.

Hey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.

    Thanks so much!
