Maintenance Release for the Week of 21 August 2017

Today we’re happy to announce the sixteenth Maintenance Release of 2017. Maintenance Releases are smaller updates between major updates that are mostly comprised of bug fixes, tweaks, and small but meaningful improvements.

The Events Calendar 4.5.11

  • Fix – Avoid Event Aggregator previews or scheduled imports being marked as failures
  • Fix – Fixed start and end date limit parsing for events archive in the REST API code
  • Fix – Fixed issue with tribe_events_get_the_excerpt() returning a read more link that sometimes pointed to the current page
  • Fix – Fixed Post ID not being sent to the_title filter for Organizers and Venues (props Anna L.)
  • Fix – Fixed issue where Month View tooltips would often go off-screen in some smaller viewport sizes
  • Fix – Fixed an issue that would sometimes render Event Aggregator options invalid even with a valid license
  • Fix – Fixed an issue where the mobile.php template file would often fail to include an event’s featured image
  • Fix – Resolved issue where invalid linked post IDs prevent proper updates on linked posts (props to Mathew L. and a few others for highlighting this issue)
  • Fix – Do not hijack the blog when the main events page is configured to appear on the site’s homepage (our thanks to Jason and others for flagging this problem)
  • Fix – remove extra trailing double-quotes at the end of the timepicker data-format attributes
  • Fix – Fixed an issues where Event Aggregator scheduled imports could not run other than manually
  • Fix – Ensure valid license keys save as expected
  • Tweak – Removing WP Plugin API result adjustments
  • Tweak – Prevent stray commas from showing up for some event venues in the List View
  • Tweak – Prevent stray commas from showing up for some event venues in the Day View
  • Tweak – Modify certain event queries to widen the window of opportunity for query caching (props @garretjohnson)
  • Tweak – Improve Event Aggregator message regarding Facebook token expiration
  • Tweak – Support importing from URLs (Event Aggregator) where the protocol hasn’t been specified by defaulting to HTTP
  • Tweak – Removed WP API adjustments
  • Tweak – Added filter: tribe_aggregator_meta_source to filter the Event Aggregator import source
  • Tweak – Added filter: tribe_events_linked_post_meta_values_{$current_linked_post_meta_key} for filtering the array of values retrieved for a specific linked post meta field
  • Tweak – Updated views: src/views/day/single-event.php and src/views/list/single-event.php
  • Compatibility – Minimum supported version of WordPress is now 4.5
  • Language – Improvements to various strings to improve ease of translation (props to @ramiy)
  • Language – 5 new strings added, 56 updated, 1 fuzzied, and 3 obsoleted [the-events-calendar]

Events Calendar PRO 4.4.16

  • Feature – Added ability to filter events by location through WP_Query arguments tribe_geoloc, tribe_geoloc_lat, and tribe_geoloc_lng
  • Fix – Restored functionality to Map View and location search, which were both failing under certain circumstances with certain venues
  • Fix – Lock down the low-risk queries for posterity in Tribe__Events__Pro__Geo_Loc with $wpdb->prepare
  • Fix – Recurrence bug with updating weekly rules, used w date format instead of N
  • Fix – Enqueue the Minical Widget’s stylesheet and scripts in the <head> when possible
  • Fix – Added default highlight color for featured events in the Advanced List Widget (thank you @jhoughton1 and @solel for reporting this)
  • Fix – Fixed translation issue with custom fields label on event editor page
  • Fix – Improve accuracy of “Next Events” link on single-venue pages, so that it only shows when there are truly more events to see
  • Fix – Fixed issue where the Google Maps script and its Geolocation script would load on events archive views (other than Map View) even when the “Hide location search” option was checked (thanks to Teresa A.)
  • Tweak – Added per-event CSS class in Week view, it indexes how many events start at the same time allowing unique CSS for each
  • Tweak – New hook: tribe_geoloc_pre_get_venues_in_geofence for circumventing get_venues_in_geofence database query
  • Tweak – New hooks: tribe_events_single_venue_posts_per_page and tribe_venue_upcoming_events
  • Tweak – Updated views: src/views/pro/list/venue-nav.php
  • Compatibility – Minimum supported version of WordPress is now 4.5
  • Language – 0 new strings added, 6 updated, 0 fuzzied, and 0 obsoleted [tribe-events-calendar-pro]

Event Tickets 4.5.4

  • Tweak – Removed WP API adjustments
  • Compatibility – Minimum supported version of WordPress is now 4.5
  • Language – 0 new strings added, 18 updated, 0 fuzzied, and 0 obsoleted [event-tickets]

Community Events 4.5.5

  • Fix – Set the Show Map and Show Map Link fields to true by default, restoring the behavior from past versions
  • Tweak – Fixed some typos that would sometimes show up in the Organizer selection fields
  • Tweak – Added filter: tribe_events_community_apply_map_defaults for filtering venue map fields
  • Language – 0 new strings added, 28 updated, 0 fuzzied, and 0 obsoleted [tribe-events-community]

GigPress 2.3.19

  • Tweak – Added filter gigpress_related_post_types to allow more than just “post” for related posts
  • Compatibility – Minimum supported version of WordPress is now 4.5
