ParticipantThanks Victor
I dont have my install network activated it is on just one subsite…. I presume that I still need to manually apply any updates to the pro… Is there a mailing list so I know when a new version is released?
Clive
ParticipantHi Victor, thanks for your continued suppoprt on this…… Finally Paypal made the payment just as I was about to give up…. I would appreciate it if you could check that all is well at your end….
On the subject of multisite I did ask some time about that and was assured by the help that it was OK to use on a multisite but on just one site within the network… The topic is here…
Multisite set up but only using 1 dedicated site for the Calendar
Is there anything else I need to do now apart from manually uploading the latest version of Pro?
Clive
Marked as solved 🙂
Clive
ParticipantHi Victor, thanks for your continued support…
The issue seems to be with the subscription method that you use… Surely a one off payment system could be implemented… “Click to pay via paypal for 1 year”
Especially as the auto update system for me does not work any way…. I have a multisite WP install and I use events on just one site in the multisite setup… I have to download and upload manually any updates to the pro version… (the core updates on auto though)
I do not want to use a credit card for internet payments which is why i have a paypal account…
Are you saying then that you agree with paypals latest comment that the subscription is to confirm I am over 18? Why do you insist that I pay with a credit card…??
Clive
ParticipantHI
Same issue I am afraid,,, wasted a lot of time on this just trying to pay a bill via paypal… below is latest response from them.. The paypal system is still going around in circles asking me for a credit card…Enough funds are in my account and this should be a simple click and pay, not a month of trying and testing my patience… Sorry its a bit annoying now…. 🙂
Dear Clive Muir:
Thank you for contacting PayPal regarding the payments to The events calendar by modern tribe. My name is Eloy and it is my pleasure to assist you today.
After reviewing your PayPal account I can confirm that it is perfect working order and ready to make payments.
I can see the payments to this seller are made through a subscription. In some circunstances, sellers can only accept payments for subscriptions from a Credit or Debit Card confirmed. One of the most common reasons the seller request this is to make sure the payment is received from a person over 18.
I am glad I could help you today. I wish you a good day and I thank you for choosing PayPal.
Yours sincerely,
Eloy

ParticipantA totally ridiculous answer from paypal as I expected… There is no reason for an internal security system to block the payment…
I tried again this morning to pay but the system still makes me select a card and no link to pay by paypal balance…
Clive
ParticipantHi Victor, here is the reply from Paypal…. Not a solution at all… Open to your suggestions!
Dear Clive Muir,
Thank you for contacting PayPal, my name is Alejandra and it is a pleasure to assit you.
After reviewing your PayPal account, we can confirm that the payment to theeventscalendar.com that you were trying to make has been denied by our internal security system.
Although the payment has been denied, this doesn’t affect the status of your PayPal account and will not necessarily happen again for future payments.
To ensure your protection, we have a security system at PayPal that reviews each transaction before processing it, a system similar to the one used by most banks. Sometimes this security system takes additional preventive measures, and blocks a payment or the use of a card or bank account.
As this is an automatic action, we can’t unblock it. But we can give you some advice to try to make the payment again:
Try making the payment with another payment method.
Try making the payment again later.
Make sure to send the payment from the country where you live. If possible, try to connect from your home computer or the computer you use most frequently for PayPal.We always recommend you use a different payment method, although we can’t guarantee that the payment will be completed if the security system blocks you again for a different reason.
It is my pleasure to assist you. Thank you for choosing PayPal.
Yours sincerely,
Alejandra

ParticipantHi Victor, thanks for your help so far… It’s really annoying not being able to click “pay” and just get it paid.
I have written to Paypal but have had no reply yet….
Can you not just turn off the subscription and make it just a straight pay amount… Ot failing that send me a payment request? [email protected]
Clive
ParticipantI just tried again with the coupon added… After the system refreshed the price to include the coupon I clicked on pay with paypal… I was prompted to select a card.. I did and clicked continue… The page refrteshed back to the payment due/basket page…. No payment was made
Very frustrating….
Clive
ParticipantHi Victor
That is my point Victor, maybe you did not understand the issue correctly or maybe I didnt explain properly…
I do have a card linked to my paypà l account and have had for many years…. On clicking to checkout via paypal I am prompted to a select box to select 1 of the 2 cards that are linked to my account…. It doesn’t matter which one i select and then click continue…. Your system stalls and either the page just closes refreshes back to the main website…
At no time is an attempt made by your system to use the funds that are in my account to make the purchase…
Clive
ParticipantHi Victor…Thanks for your reply but I am still having the same issue…
When I click the paypal link from my basket Paypal opens and askes me to select the card I want use… Then I am asked to click on a “one time click” to connect the card with paypal… If I continue then the window closes and no purchase is made and no attempt to use my paypal funds is made…. The item is still in my basket… I do not want to use a card with paypal for my own reasons. I want to pay with my paypal balance but therte is no option available for this, just goes round in circles asking for a card.
This must be an issue at your end as I am sending and recieveing payments without issues from my paypal account…
A bit annoying really as I have lost my early bird promo due to this issue…. I want to simply click the buy button and use my paypal balance to pay… Please have a look to see what id going on as my subscription is about to run out.
Thanks
Clive
ParticipantWell, thanks for the information about that…. And to clarify for anyone searching for the same issue….. If you have Events pro on a multisite you have to manually update new versions. (even if you only use the pro version on 1 site in your multi site install like I do)
I hope this gets fixed soon because at 80 US dollars a year this plugin is more expensive than my hosting 🙂
Clive
ParticipantHi Courtney, thanks for the reply…. So am I to assume that I have not had an auto update over the last year for pro version? I just presumed that when events updates on auto that pro was doing it as well….
Clive
ParticipantHi, I have the same issue except that I have just renewed my license for a further year…. (second year) Courtneys comment has confused me about auto updates…
I have a WP multisite install but have events calender pro running on just one site within the multi site. Over the previous year I have been getting updates when they are released. As of today my events is at version 4.4.5 and pro is at 4.1.1
Will I have to manually upgrade in the future? As I said pro and events have been upgrading on auto over the last year even with the message (below) showing in the admin area of events.
I have just refreshed my updates page in WP Admin but there are no updates available. Or, am I running current versions now?
Message displayed…..
Multisite licenses are now available: it looks like this license is being used on a multisite network but is using a single-site license. Please visit https://theeventscalendar.com/products/ to upgrade.April 11, 2016 at 11:56 pm in reply to: Multisite set up but only using 1 dedicated site for the Calendar #1101198Clive
ParticipantHi,
I have marked this topic as solved. The warning in my account here about multi site has gone now so I guess I will get auto updates when they are released. Thanks for your help with this topic Nico and I hope that it is of use to other people setting up the events calender on a multisite set up but only using it on 1 subsite…
Thanks again

ParticipantHi,
I have purchased and installed the pro version of the eent calendar. I have also entered the license keys for both pro and community events. The plugin is not network activated and is only activated at this URL
http://turismograzalema.com/quehacerenlasierradegrazalema/When I added the license keys in wordpress adming i still got the message that I am on a network and need to upgrade to multi site license… Will this correct itself or do I need to disconnect and reconnect in my account here at the events calendar?
Thanks for any advice
