Hi Victor, thanks for your continued support…

The issue seems to be with the subscription method that you use… Surely a one off payment system could be implemented… “Click to pay via paypal for 1 year”

Especially as the auto update system for me does not work any way…. I have a multisite WP install and I use events on just one site in the multisite setup… I have to download and upload manually any updates to the pro version… (the core updates on auto though)

I do not want to use a credit card for internet payments which is why i have a paypal account…

Are you saying then that you agree with paypals latest comment that the subscription is to confirm I am over 18? Why do you insist that I pay with a credit card…??

    Hi Clive,

I’m not sure exactly what the issue is, but we are not getting any other users reporting a similar problem with PayPal, so it seems particular to your PayPal account.

Our subscriptions system is a tool for clients to be able to renew their licenses without having to make a manual payment each time. Not really something to confirm that you are over 18.

Unfortunately, we can’t implement another PayPal payment system other than the one we currently have. So, if PayPal is not letting you set a payment then the only option available we have is paying with a card.

I have a multisite WP install and I use events on just one site in the multisite setup… I have to download and upload manually any updates to the pro version… (the core updates on auto though)

That is the expected behavior for a personal license. If you need automatic updates for a multisite network, you will need to purchase a Multisite license > https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/multisite-license/

Let me know if any follow up questions.

    Best,
    Victor

Hi Victor, thanks for your continued suppoprt on this…… Finally Paypal made the payment just as I was about to give up…. I would appreciate it if you could check that all is well at your end….

On the subject of multisite I did ask some time about that and was assured by the help that it was OK to use on a multisite but on just one site within the network… The topic is here…

Multisite set up but only using 1 dedicated site for the Calendar

Is there anything else I need to do now apart from manually uploading the latest version of Pro?

    Marked as solved 🙂

    Hi Clive,

Glad to know about it! I can confirm the order is now completed and your license already renewed 🙂

Regarding your multisite setup, I’ve just checked and you shouldn’t need to have a multisite license if you only activate your license on just one subsite.

Multisite licenses are only for using the plugin on more than one subsite, so you should be good with your current license. But, like Nico said in the other topic, you should only activate the plugin on your subsite.

Is there anything else I can help you with? Let me know.

    Best,
    Victor

    Thanks Victor

I dont have my install network activated it is on just one subsite…. I presume that I still need to manually apply any updates to the pro… Is there a mailing list so I know when a new version is released?

    Hi Clive,

We create a new post in our blog with details for each release > https://theeventscalendar.com/blog/.

You should still be able to receive a notification in your site’s plugin page when new updates become available.

Additionally, you can force your site to search for updates by navigating to your WP Admin > Dashboard > Updates and click Check Again.

As always, we encourage to setup a dev/staging site so you can test things out and make all plugins, theme and WordPress core updates without disrupting the live site.

I hope that helps. Let me know if any follow up questions 🙂

    Best,
    Victor

Hey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.

    Thanks so much!
