ParticipantHello Patricia,
Thank you for your suggestion. At first, I was reluctant to do it again because before I reported the issue I had deactivated all plugins , changed the themes and it did not make any difference.
After that, I updated the calendar to 4.5.10 and ,as I mentioned it, this did not resolve the problem on the production machine. However, I decided to deactivate all the plugins again and found that one (Relevansi) was in conflict with Event Calendar.Relevansi had been running for months and months with Event Calendar so it seems that a combinaison of a new version of one or the other (or both) has introduced a conflict.
Thank you very much for your help on this issue . Please feel free to close the ticket.
Best,
Lisianne

ParticipantHi Patricia,
Thank you very much for the workaround. I was able to import the events.
However this is not a long-term solution because it does not allow us to maintain the Calendar and update it with new events on a regular basis.I would like to keep this ticket open until a fix has been provided.
Please note that I updated Event Calendar to the latest version 4.5.10 but this did NOT resolve the issue.
However I had no problem uploading the Google Calendar events on a totally new installation ( on my own web account / domain name ) . It is as if your Calendar product did not handle correctly the update from the former iCal to the new Event Aggregator …Please keep us updated as progress are made by the development team .
Thanks.Lise

ParticipantHello,
Thank you for your reply. I tried to import the calendar using the “ICS Import” and I get the exact same error.
“There was an error fetching the results from your import: Unknown service message.”Do you have another suggestion…my client is getting a bit nervous …They just renew their License and are pretty disappointed that it is not working. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Lisianne

ParticipantMy problem is exactly the same as the one reported here:
I have tried the solution suggested by Victor: disconnect the license and re-enter it but this DOES NOT work.
Looking forward to a solution…
Thanks,Lise

ParticipantHello Brook,
It has been more than a week now that a bug has been reported , along with all the data to duplicate it easily on your side (you did – thank you).
Being able (or not) to create the event manually is not relevant. The purpose of this plugin is to synchronize a Google calendar and The Events calendar automatically and to do it with the minimum of robustness expected from “serious plugins”. So yes, of course, we can manually create the missing event …but this assume that we have detected there is a missing event (we caught this one by chance )
Could we have have a status on this issue please?
Many Thanks,
LisianneCarla Dagnone
ParticipantHello,
Any news on this problem? I think you were able to duplicate so you should have all you need but if you want me to provide further info, please let me know.
Thanks,
Lisianne

ParticipantHi Brook,
I am glad to know that you managed to duplicate the problem! It should help figuring out what is happening here.
Please keep me posted.
I asked my client if she had entered these two events in any “special/different” manner. She said that sometimes she duplicates events in Google and she may have duplicated one of these . But she also mentioned that she has duplicated other events which were imported succesfully so I am afraid this is not even a hint but I wanted to mention it just in case …
Thanks.

August 10, 2015 at 2:58 pm in reply to: iCal alters end date on one specific event from Google Calendar #994884Carla Dagnone
ParticipantHey George,
This is really really strange …There must be something on our side but I don’t know where else to look.
The latest tests I run are even more puzzling :1) we deleted the event in Google calendar
2) deleted (the hard/complete way) the event in Wodpress
3) run an import – obviously the event did not show
4) re-created the event in Google
5) run an import ..and guess what …
6) same problem with the same event (or rather the newly created event) . The start date is correct. The end is *always* altered to the current day!The workaround is to change the start date of the import but an unexplained problem is not exactly reassuring. By any chance, is there a way to turn on a trace?
Thank you!

ParticipantHello,
Yes the same problem occurs when I run the Twenty Fifteen theme with no plugin .You an see a screenshot at http://ge.tt/1cD8DqL2/v/0?c
Notice how the event “School opens” start on the 3rd and end on the day I run the import ( the 7th)I think my installation is totally up-to-date and we have eliminated all other elements. I would appreciate if you could import the file and tell me if you duplicate the problem.
Many Thanks,
Lisianne

ParticipantHi George,
Thank you for your reply.
Unfortunately, your suggestion#2 does not work : when I alter the date manually in the WP admin, the next import *resets* it to the current day! I know it sounds crazy but I just tried again and now (Aug 6) the event shows as starting Aug 3 and ending Aug 6!
To answer your questions :
a) Events Calendar : 3.11.2
b) iCal : 3.11
c) WordPress : 4.2.4Link to the ics file : http://ge.tt/7GOyAlL2/v/0?c
Please let me know if you find anything or if you need any other info.
Thanks,
Lisanne and Carla.

ParticipantHi Brook,
Thank you very much for your detailed response. Yes, I get it perfectly and I understand why it wa built that way.
You are correct: I am in development phase. I wanted to test the recurring sync. between Google and the Events Calendar and because I don’t manage the Google calendar of my client, I thought that deleting a few events was smart 🙂Thanks a lot for your support. Very much appreciated.

ParticipantUPDATE : I just found that this behavior of iCal is mentioned at the very bottom of this page of the knowledgeDB
https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/running-a-saved-recurring-import-with-the-ical-importer/
See point 12.2
Is there a way to turn this off?
Thank you,
Carla / Lisianne
