I’M SO CLOSEE. So my problem arose when I edited the .php as a .txt, then tried to save. It kept saving as an ANSI file which removed some characters and broke the site. It was either that or I wasn\’t manually adding .php to the end. Again, I\’m really green with all of this.

    BUT.

Now I have a different problem, which is that when a user submits an event that date automatically changes to the current Date and time default to 9-5 or 8-5 i forget. No error messages are seen and if I change a date on the admin side it works fine. What\’s going wrong?

    Cheers,

    Jeromie

    I”M SO CLOOOSSEE.

So I fixed the problem. Like I said, I’m not really adept at this stuff but my problem was that I had edited the functions.php in a text document and when I was saving it it saved as ANSI which removed some characters and ruined the file. Either that, or I wasn’t manually adding .php to the end of the file. Either way, it is now fixed.

    BUT.

Now I have another problem, which is that when I create an event I put in the Date and Time and get no error messages, but when I go to the admin side of things the events revert to the current day and a default time.

Pictures here, not that they help much: http://imgur.com/a/zoEnC

Everything else works though. What’s going on?

    Cheers,

    Jeromie

    Hey Rob,

“This is the untouched version (didn’t copy and paste anything in).”
    – Nov. 9th post.

When my error occured, I had put both the Gravity Forms initial code at the very end of the functions.php, after everything else, and the additional Gravity Form amended code for 2.0 right under that.

I sent the untouched functions.php because I didn’t know if there was a place it should specifically go.

    Cheers,

    Jeromie

    Hey Rob,

Sorry about that. Here it is in pastie: http://pastie.org/2837065

I had originally made a seperated hashedout column for it at the end like the other sections look like. This is the untouched version (didn’t copy and paste anything in).

    Cheers,

    Hey guys,

Soo I’m stuck. I don’t think I know exactly where to put the added code in the functions.php. Here is a copy of my functions.php:

    http://bit.ly/uFAZHN

When I try to update my functions.php, the site goes white and stops working entirely. I then have to overwrite the functions.php with the original file via FTP.

I’m not a web developer really, but I think the tutorial is pretty straight forward. What am I doing wrong?

    Cheers,

    Jeromie

    Hey Rob,

Soo I have followed all of the directions on the Gravity Forms tutorial and get everything up until the “paste into functions.php”. Is there a specific place I need to plug this in?

This is what my functions.php looks like: http://bit.ly/uFAZHN

The file I am editing is “functions.php” edited through the drop down menu under Appearance in the WordPress dashboard sidebar, which traces to my theme folder and functions.php file, so everything is good from what I gather.

When I try to update it, it brings the whole site down, and just shows a blank white screen. Everything fails to load and I have to overwrite the functions.php file with the original via FTP.

I’m not a developer really, but I think it’s pretty straight forward. I just am missing something. What am I missing here?

    Hey guys,

Thanks for the update. Rob I didn’t see a confirmed solution to the problems people were having in that thread, but hopefully something will be fully functioning by weeks end.

    Hey Rob,

Thanks, I’ll see it out until the end of the week, then if it’s not ready I’ll shoot you an email on Monday.

    Hey Rob,

So we are thinking it may be best to downgrade our purchase from ECP 2.0 to the version confirmed to work with GF. Is there a way to downgrade our purchase and upgrade at a later time?

    Hello Shane,

I would love to participate in a beta test of the community events add-on. In the meantime, is there any confirmation of people integrating GF with the ECP 2.0? I hesitate to buy it because the tutorial page explicitly says it will not work with ECP 2.0 I did not know if it was referring to solely that tutorial or the GF plug-in in general. I would love to setup either ASAP.

    Cheers,

    Jeromie

Hey guys, thanks for the clarification and prompt response. To specifically address how I was able to get ECP 2.0 working, I had to actually disable timthumb. I had tried everything on the support forums to try to amend the timthumb.php, but to no avail. It wasn’t really a big deal for me because I size my pictures according to theme specs anyways, but for some it might be a little more time intensive.

    Hi Shane,

I updated my theme (couldn’t before because of an unknown timthumb error, but I got it working now) and it seems to be working now.

I must say though, I am disappointed that ECP 2.0 doesn’t include gravity forms built in like advertised by gravity forms (from GF website: http://i.imgur.com/xIWeM.png) . This is the reason I waited over a month for ECP 2.0 to come out (then another month after originally estimated). I am appreciative of the work that you guys do, but the communication and delivery of products needs much improvement.

    Cheers,

    Jeromie
