November 8, 2016 at 6:27 pm in reply to: thumbnail image in week view widget – make it link to event and not `/`… #1189442Nico
MemberThanks for the follow-up Chris!
I think there must be a simple way of doing this. When I tested it on my local install just adding:
<?php echo tribe_event_featured_image($event->ID, 'thumbnail', true); ?>
To the week view ‘single-event.php’ override works as expected. I’m wondering if you can check if this works well when yo browse Week view in the calendar as opposed when this is viewed in the homepage. Also can you please share the exact same code you are using to get week view to show in the homepage? I’ll try to reproduce this locally hence find a fix πPlease let me know about it,
Best,
NicoNico
MemberThanks for confirming @dcantato! Good catch I missed that your snippet was lacking a return π
Is that filter the title for when the page does that little reload it tends to do? What is that hooking into β tribe_events_title_tag?
Yeap, it’s a general filter for when the calendar updates the title. And yes it’s hooking to tribe_events_title_tag.
Is there another hook for the meta description tag?
Not sure about that, but I’m mostly sure the calendar is changing that. My guess is you might need to hook into a Yoast filter for this. Do you think the description tag is being changed by our plugin?
Please let me know about this,
Best,
NicoNico
MemberThanks for following up April!
I think the issue here is that you need to create a new tag (for example called ‘exclusive’) and input that tag’s ID in replacement of the ’99’ sample tag ID. If you are not sure how to get the tag id, just go to the Tags list (WP-Admin > Post > Tags) once there click to edit the desired tag and when the edit page is loaded you’ll see the ‘tag_ID’ parameter in the URL β that’s the value we are looking for!
Please let me know if you can configure this now π

MemberThanks adding your case @dte_bali! The fix should be out in the next maintenance release scheduled for net week. This might change due to time constrains but it looks like it will make it π

MemberHey Marta,
Thanks for getting in touch with us on this!
Let me start by saying that our WPML support is still limited to a specific way of adding translations. Please take a look at the following articles to get to know more about WPML and The Events Calendar:
Please let me know if the issue persists when using the method described in the guides,
Best,
NicoNico
MemberSure April, you can access the feed by adding ?ical=1 to any calendar views. For example: http://sitename/events/?ical=1.
Please let me know if that works for you,

MemberThanks for the kind words Damion and glad to hear this helps a bit! I still got to inspect this and try to find a temporary workaround until devs get to this ticket.
Also, I’m not sure about the error you mentioned. It might be due to the fact that the site is a staging site access by editing the host file, as you say.
Give me a bit of time, I’ll try to get to this tomorrow if possible!
Best,
NicoNico
MemberThanks for following up Mark!
And may I throw another inquiry in please? … Started a new thread re empty Calander.
Thanks for doing this! We appreciate having just one issue per thread π
Any thoughts, appreciate itβs the weekend but just a polite ask?
I’m sorry for the delay we do not monitor the forums on weekends.
Fair enough Nico, ok what size do the the photos get reduced to at their largest size?
Or what would you suggest I make the photo sizes to look smart etc? Finally getting to the original question, photo view uses the ‘medium’ image size. By default that size is 300×300 although you can change it in WP-Admin > Settings > Media > Medium size. Give this a try using 1:1 proportion for event featured images (600×600) should be ok! This will also ensure a nice big image in the single event page too.
Please let me know if this helps,
Best,
NicoNico
MemberHey Neil, sorry for the delay here! I just wanted to let you know this has been out of my radar for a few days π

MemberHey @krystalknapp,
Thanks for chiming in, and sorry to hear that you are experiencing the same issue as well π
I disabled all my other plug ins and re-activated the Events Calendar plug in and still had the issue. Kris, are you using a Genesis child theme like I am or no?
Can you please confirm if this issue is related to the Genesis parent theme? I mean if you switch to a default theme like Twenty Sixteen are you still able to reproduce this? If so can you please send a screenshot of this? I’m still not 100% about it.
Thanks,
Nico -
