LarsParticipant
This is getting too confusing and you are directing us in various complex directions. Barry, all we need is to unlink (remove the link) from categories being listed below the “Event Category” heading on the Single Event Page. How hard can be?
If visitors can click these categories they are presented with no events (and we can’t have that) as ECP can’t understand the common sence in moving forward to the next upcoming event in its calender but stick to whatever realtime week/month we are in.
Now let’s get this unlinked please and close this thread down.
LarsParticipantIf the snippet is not working is it must be possible to change the headings manually somewhere?
LarsParticipantHi Barry, the snippet is in place as shown here: http://pastebin.com/zCVTqyhf but as you see the snippet is not working or changing anything: https://www.dropbox.com/s/g0cz08sz7xovmkr/Screenshot%202014-03-14%2008.54.52.png
it is very important that we get this working.LarsParticipantHi Barry,
We can’t get this to work same as this won’t work: https://tri.be/support/forums/topic/active-filters-title-not-relected-on-events/We need to unlink all “Event Category” (and change heading) as they cause a faulty link/URL. This is caused by the lack of ECP not being able to automatically forward to nearest upcoming events in Week (month) view. Could you please help us sort this? We tried finding the link in the Single Event file with no luck.

LarsParticipantHi Barry,
I simply just would like to unlink the “Event Category” and “Organizer” on the Single Event Page but keep it displaying. The reason for this is that ECP cannot be set to show a specific week of events (in October) and it only works realtime (!). We managed to customize this by using a Redirection plugin redirecting /events to /events/week/2014-10-06/ but when clicking the “Event Category” link on the Single Event Page this all falls apart as “categories” are used in the URL.LarsParticipantThis reply is private.
LarsParticipantHi Barry,
The filter/snippet helped. Thanks!I believe this issue will be raised again and that supporting shortcodes for inserting anywhere on any page will be a great improvement and UX to ECP.
What if I wanted to add a right side Widget to the Single Event Page? How would that be possible?
LarsParticipantBTW the “Shortcode” feature request has already been suggested a number of times with hundreds of votes but with no indication of even “planned” for implementation?
LarsParticipantOkay but we need to add a description text below the the custom heading too. How do we do that then?
But ohhh how much easier all would be if you would just support “shortcodes” so that we could create a new WP page, add a heading, write some text, insert ECP shortcode and even use Widgets. With ECP as it is – nothing of this is possible and we need to mess around in the functions.php file. Are there any major update releases planned soon?
LarsParticipantIt’s both actually. It follows that if the general “Time” column in the calendar could be adjustet to show only 8AM to 11PM (leaving out all other AM hours) then “Night” shouldn’t be an option in the Filter bar either.
It would be great if a general “Time frame” (i.e. corresponding to our office hours) could be set in the ECP settings. Not everyone wants to range Events on 24 hours basis.
