Hi Jamie,
So I ran the follow test:
I created a fresh WP install, with the Twenty-seventeen theme activated. Installed TEC and activated the aggregator add-on.
I then created a brand new import using the Outlook ics link in question (below). I ran the import multiple times and every time I run the import, it duplicates the events.
Additionally, I changed the import setting to “Do not re-import events.” and it is STILL duplicating the events.
Also, I installed your “Recurring Event Cleanup Tool”, however, I can’t test it out without purchasing another PRO license. That’s very frustrating since I need to test this out before I run it on my live site.
Finally, after some extensive Googling I found this TEC support thread from last year that appears to may have an answer to what it going on here. Is my issue related to this? Can I speak with Andras? – https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/duplicate-ical-import-still-a-problem/
mccicreatesParticipantHi Jamie,
1) I’ve followed all the steps outlined in your “testing for conflicts” and the issue is still happening.
2) Perhaps you missed a link in item 2? What tool?
3) I’ve changed the setting to “Do not re-import”. When I run the import it skips all the event prior to May but keeps duplicating the May events and now it’s duplicating the June events as well. I’m testing this with the theme on Twenty-seventeen with ALL plugins disabled except The Events Calendar.
mccicreatesParticipantThanks Jamie,
3 questions regarding your suggestions.
1) Why is this happening now when it has never happened and we didn’t change any settings?
2) These event do reoccur but not necessarily on the same day of the week or at the same time. Will this tool work for that?
3) Re: The update authority setting. So if I change it to “do not reimport” if there is a change to one of the events on my other calendar import, those changes would not be updated or is that just for changes made to events in WordPress? Thanks

Barry, any update on this?
mccicreatesParticipantHi Jamie,
Shortly after receiving your message this issue, without intervention, miraculously resolved itself.
Strange.
Are you aware of any common issues that would generate the error message we provided from the event log?

That’s wonderful! Thank you for the updated.
I’ll keep an eye out for an update from you on the fix.
Any idea on timing? Doesn’t have to be exact. Just an estimate would be great if you could provide it.

As this is still an outstanding issue for us, I wanted to follow up to find out if this is something that your team will be looking. Can we anticipate a follow up?
March 16, 2018 at 12:53 pm in reply to: Venue Address Importing Incorrectly – Google Calendar #1481613mccicreatesParticipantHi Jamie,
We’ve tried using the full word Street rather than just St and it still produced the wrong address.
March 15, 2018 at 2:57 pm in reply to: Venue Address Importing Incorrectly – Google Calendar #1480633mccicreatesParticipantYes.
This is how it’s put into the Google calendar’s location field:
5555 Conner St, Detroit, MI 48213, USAThis is what is how the venue is create when it imports:
Title: 5555 Conner St, Detroit, MI 48213, USA
Address: 5557 Conner St, Detroit, MI, USAThe address number changes and from 5555 to 5557 and the I’m noticing the zip code is not added to the address.

We have been manually adding the addresses to the Google calendar. But as I said before, 2 work but the 1 (Samaritan Center) doesn’t.
Is the issue with using the Google populated address a bug that’s being worked on?
March 14, 2018 at 1:40 pm in reply to: Venue Address Importing Incorrectly – Google Calendar #1479448mccicreatesParticipantHi Jamie,
I don’t have direct access to that Google calendar but here is a screenshot of the calendar embed that shows the address correctly added to the location field for one event.
Thanks for the suggestion regarding preserving local changes, however that still means we have to make updates to new events as they are added which defeats the goal of automation.
Have you been able to recreate the incorrect address when using the repopulated address Google calendar gives you if you type the location name into the location field. See attached screenshot. We tested using this data and the address that’s populated for the venue was completely incorrect.
Also, I noticed this post regarding the same issue where one of your techs references an issue with Data Science Toolkit. https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/venue-address-importing-incorrectly/ Is this the same issue?
March 14, 2018 at 10:02 am in reply to: Venue Address Importing Incorrectly – Google Calendar #1479222mccicreatesParticipantHi Jamie,
I have confirmed that it is listed correctly in the Google calendar.
Were you able to recreate the issue?
We have been manually updating the venue address as a temporary fix but as you can imagine, this slightly defeats the purpose of having the event auto-import as now we have to make those changes daily.
Also, is there a way to get the venue name to import rather than full address as the name? I have manually changed them but when a new import runs, it just creates new venues with the full address rather than associating them with the existing venues that have the same address. Make sense?
