Using the shortcode doesn’t order the events by when they were published to the calendar. This is the shortcode I tried.
[display-posts post_type=”tribe_events” posts_per_page=”20″ order=”DESC” orderby=”date”]

I have also tried orderby=”ID” and orderby=”modified” and it doesn’t change the order.

All it does is list events in order of the date they’re listed on the calendar. An event that’s listed for December 14th that I published on September 6th is constantly shown first by the shortcode, while an event I published this morning (September 26) that’s happening November 10th is 11th down on the list by the shortcode.

If I were to publish a new event that’s dated for February of next year that will end of at the top of the list and sit at the top of the list no matter how many other events I publish to the calendar that are happening at an earlier date.

I’m glad I found this thread, because my calendar is also having this issue where changes to my display settings don’t take when you click the save changes button. Everything just stays set to what it was previously.

Are you both having an issue where you can set a new event as recurring but only the first date of the event gets published to the calendar/database? Flavor-VMS is simply a child theme where I added an ad rotation shortcode to header.php, a few custom text shortcodes in functions.php and one color change to style.css of the theme. I simply forgot to activate the child theme on the test site. And those alterations were made within the last. When the problem with recurring events started it was on a completely different theme.

But it makes no difference, even after activating the child theme with identical files, the test site install Events Calendar is still able to generate the recurring days in the database while the live site doesn’t.

Other than the fact that the live site has 1500 posts and nearly 1300 events vs just a handful on the test site, both the live and test installs are structured the same.

Thankfully recurring events aren’t something I use too frequently, but I miss the convenience.

Sorry, last weekend I transitioned to a new WordPress Theme and tested other plugin upgrades on the test install. Here’s the system info with identical templates and plugins (except Events Calendar Pro… I upgraded the live site’s version, but since my key only works for one site I couldn’t upgrade the test one unless I copy and paste it) and functions.php filesare also identical.

So I installed all the plugins I use on my live site onto the test one and recurring events continue to work correctly on the test install. So I guess that’s not the problem.

Events Calendar Plugin, theme and wordpress version are identical. The only thing different is the test install is without a bunch of plugins I use on the live site. But I turned off all plugins initially when I first started having the problem and that didn’t resolve anything.

Correct. Recurring events are not generating recurring dates on my live site at all. Recurring events do generate recurring dates on a test install.

Changing to a 12 hour time format didn’t change anything. Recurring days still don’t generate.

It definitely affects all recurrence versions.

Installed the plugins on a wordpress install I use to experiment with plugins I want to try out and recurring events work fine in the fresh install.

One thing I noticed different in the fresh install compared to the active version on my site is that on the fresh install when I add a new event the start/end date and time has an AM/PM drop menu. My active install uses 24 hour clock format so the am/pm option isn’t even there. I can’t seem to find anywhere in Settings that toggles it either way. Could that mess up recurring events somehow?

After switching to a default theme (WordPress’ 2013 one) and turning off all other plugins. I then tried to create a new recurring event and got same result. The recurring days don’t get created.

Also to be totally clear, it also happens when if I were to change a single event to recurring as well. Pretty much recurring events aren’t recurring no matter what I do.
