Never mind. I resolved this myself.
December 7, 2017 at 10:54 am in reply to: How to get the current event category ID and Event date in functions.php #1400566Kyle SmilesParticipantStill trying to find an answer here … I really need to be able to pull the category id and the event date (single day) during while ( $day[‘events’]->have_posts() ) : $day[‘events’]->the_post(); endwhile; I can get away with not being able to have that in functions.php now. Please advise.
December 6, 2017 at 2:01 pm in reply to: How to get the current event category ID and Event date in functions.php #1399817Kyle SmilesParticipantJust to clarify, I need to be able to pull the current event category ID for each event as it is creating the event list: while ( $day[‘events’]->have_posts() ) : $day[‘events’]->the_post(); endwhile;
December 5, 2017 at 10:52 am in reply to: Get the event category and author ID for each event in functions.php #1398883Kyle SmilesParticipantNever mind. This has to be done on the display level not in functions.php
Kyle SmilesParticipantThank you this seems to have worked 🙂
Kyle SmilesParticipantThis doesn’t help. This just allows me to only limit the users capabilities. This is only part of the solution. I need my users to be able to add/edit/delete their own events. The plug-in helps limit their abilities, but it doesn’t limit their ability to modify event categories, add venue, costs, etc. I need to have these sections removed, if possible, to avoid them entering this information.
Kyle SmilesParticipantThis worked. Thank you very much! I search the site for this and I am not sure why this page didn’t come up in my search efforts. Thanks again!

October 24, 2017 at 9:57 am in reply to: Hide Event Category and Import sub menu items in admin #1368210Kyle SmilesParticipantI want to have the submenu items “Event Category” and “Import” removed from the admin page and the following isn’t working:
remove_submenu_page(‘edit.php?post_type=tribe_events’, ‘edit-tags.php?taxonomy=tribe_events_cat&post_type=tribe_events’); // Event Category
remove_submenu_page(‘edit.php?post_type=tribe_events’, ‘edit.php?post_type=tribe_events&page=aggregator’); // Event ImportOctober 21, 2017 at 8:53 am in reply to: Hide Event Category and Import sub menu items in admin #1367083Kyle SmilesParticipantI just want to hide, not remove, the ability for certain users to be able to add/edit Event Categories. So I just want to hide the menu options from them. I know how to do this by role, I just don’t see an easy way to do this. Looking at your post, I couldn’t find any documentation on the tribe_events_register_event_cat_type_args filter. How does it work? Do you have a link to the documentation? Thank you.
