Hi Barry,
Thanks for all your attention. The problem still exists, with the “Block access to WordPress dashboard”, however as long as you’re able to access the site using the /wp-login.php instead of /wp-admin/ – well, that’s the workaround.
Back in July I wasn’t able to access the /wp-login.php URL, I was able to get someone in there to help me figure that out, so I can now have the Block Access checked and be able to log in. I hope others find a resolution to this as well since I’m not alone!kellymarie2001ParticipantHi Barry, You and I tried that back in July 🙁
kellymarie2001ParticipantYou’re welcome to do that, it’s just a test site so it won’t affect anything.
kellymarie2001ParticipantYour question: Can you confirm what your settings are exactly? Which roles are blocked?
A: Do you want me to go through all settings? At the moment I don’t have anything checked under Access Control.kellymarie2001ParticipantThis reply is private.
kellymarie2001ParticipantI was able to replicate the issue – it’s not in the plugins or in the theme.
The problem started immediately after I started messing with the Community plugin settings – I’m 99% sure it’s the selection “Block access to WordPress dashboard” that’s causing the problem.
Do the other users on this ticket have that option checked or unchecked?
I have another site that uses this plugin and we’ve had no issues because we don’t have that Block access option checked.
Glad to know I’m not alone in this issue, hopefully we can get this resolved! I’m concerned about spammers and hackers having access to the dashboard.
Thanks!kellymarie2001ParticipantWonderful, thank you!
kellymarie2001ParticipantWonderful, thank you!
kellymarie2001ParticipantThank you! I’m not much of a coder – to what file do I add that to? wp-login.php in my WordPress files?
kellymarie2001ParticipantAs mentioned previously, I did replace the core plugin file under /plugins/the-events-calendar-community-events/views/community/
No change.
I’m on a multisite – does that make a difference?
We need to figure out asap how to get the information of the person submitting each event so that we can contact them directly – this does seem to be an oversight on the plugin’s capabilities (at least have a field in the submission area that includes an email address that won’t be published?).
I’ll contact the host as well but they aren’t very helpful!

At this point, since the site is live and selling tickets, I don’t have the luxury to test for conflicts, but I am trying to get a workaround for now (will have to figure out why it’s redirecting at a later time). I think as long as I can customize that welcome email, I’ll be good! I was able to get a plugin installed for the welcome email, but the email from WordPress I’m still trying to figure out. Will be working on that today/tomorrow and will keep you posted!kellymarie2001ParticipantIt looks like it was just the way it pasted into pastebin and I wasn’t paying attention – the line breaks don’t exist in the actual file. Here’s a revision: http://pastebin.com/c3i717Hu
I literally saw no change. Just to test things further, I removed the entire Description area and posted a test event – the email I received with the submission information saw zero change (in other words, the Description area that I erased is still there).
It seems like we’re in the wrong place?
kellymarie2001ParticipantYes, thank you! I guess my only feedback would be that your demos should reflect what you get for that demo – and not include any add-ons (or make it clear what’s what). It makes it difficult to pitch to a client that the demo for The Events Calendar actually includes a bunch of add-ons they need to pay for :/
Thanks!kellymarie2001ParticipantHi Barry!
Here’s the latest code I was trying out (using the email-template.php): http://pastebin.com/VYL6dh4a
I’ve uploaded it to both /themes/flatsome/tribe-events/community/email-template.php
and /plugins/the-events-calendar-community-events/views/community/ for good measure (when it wasn’t working). Thanks!
kellymarie2001ParticipantTried that, no dice. The email we receive shows:
Test4
August 15 – August 15Event Organizer
(name here)
Event Venue
(venue name here)Description
testReview Event
I followed the directions, tried placing the code in multiple locations – no luck.
