HEY!
Yep i know you wouldn’t be able to help with third party, just wanted to notify you that that plugin must be disabled in order for the facebook import to work.
IT is ALWAYS SLOW, I do have a lot of pages I follow so that may be causing it. Don’t know if you had any way to speed it up, just wanted to notify you.

ok posted request. even just an option in the settings to remove events expired older than … would be helpful way to clean up database.
jrtoy4311Participantthanks for reply. sounds like my hosting (dreamhost) would need to allow scheduled task. any recommendation on a plugin in general that can remove past events for me (both one time and recurring?
jrtoy4311Participantgreat, that fixed the first two, I’ve been deleting so that works out.
3. as for the 3rd issue, its ok that time zones are not supported, the issue is when importing from facebook it coverts it to timezone. I’d rather keep it as actual time…so import facebook events at the events local time zone, that way all events show correct time based on location of event in that timezone…I’ll make that note on uservoice…
jrtoy4311ParticipantAlso, when importing events, it adjusts timezone based on my server settings…AKA if an event is in cali and I’m in NY it will convert cali time to NY time upon importing. My website is worldwide, and you don’t support timezones…so when importing is it possible to keep the event time based on time zone, so if someone looks at event it shows LOCAL time, I have a little * saying all events times shown are local to event.
jrtoy4311ParticipantYes that’s the biggest problem is even after I get the URL, reusing the url does not work. Thanks for looking into it and hopefully I’ll see it fixed in your next update!
jrtoy4311Participantunfortunately that does not work, it still shows ALL events.

Consistently though, anytime I search in the “near” field those never show up, and it’s always a random date, some in the middle of recurring date, some show only the last…
let me know if you need anything else…

August 28, 2014 at 11:16 pm in reply to: near by / geolocation, Show only the first instance…shows last instance… #708036jrtoy4311Participanton a side note i created this nifty javascript to do geolocation using HTML5:
<script type=”text/javascript”>
function showLocation(position) {
var latitude = position.coords.latitude;
var longitude = position.coords.longitude;
window.location.href =”http://www.wcsaddict.com/events/?action=tribe_list&tribe_paged=1&tribe-bar-geoloc-lat=”+ position.coords.latitude +”&tribe-bar-geoloc-lng=”+ position.coords.longitude;
}function errorHandler(err) {
if(err.code == 1) {
alert(“Error: Access is denied!”);
}else if( err.code == 2) {
alert(“Error: Position is unavailable!”);
}
}
function getLocation(){if(navigator.geolocation){
// timeout at 60000 milliseconds (60 seconds)
var options = {timeout:60000};
navigator.geolocation.getCurrentPosition(showLocation,
errorHandler,
options);
}else{
alert(“Sorry, browser does not support geolocation!”);
}
}
getLocation()
</script>now I have to figure out how to activate it using a navigation title…but it could def be something other users can have! I see a lot of chatting about this in the forums.
