Thanks I discovered that there was some CSS overrides that I wasn’t aware of.

Just a final update. I got this response from ET regarding support of Custom Post Types:

“This is not a feature of the plugin. Sorry about that. We will not be updating the plugin to handle custom post types.”

I will probably switch back to WPTouch as it has full support and is now being updated again.

OK so I yesterday as I was messing around I realized Wp-Touch (free) recently got updated so I tried using that plugin to see how it behaves. What is interesting is that it has a section for supporting custom post types. You have to go into the options and select TEC3’s different post types that you want WPTouch to support. Doing this worked (although I hadn’t done any styling so it only shows the title and description).

That is to say that apparently there must be some coding done on the part of the ET Handheld crew to add support for custom post types. As I am not familiar with integrating custom post types I am a fish out of water now and I don’t see this as a problem on the TEC3 side of things. Is support of Custom Post Types for a plugin like this a difficult thing?

For those having this issue there is a simple plugin that will strip leading spaces in the feed. http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/fix-rss-feed/

I have done a thorough outline of our site setup…maybe others could use this as a template to help the guys out.

    WP: 3.3.1

    Theme:
    Webly 1.7

    Active Plugins:
Add From Server, Akismet, Blubrry PowerPress, Events Calendar PRO, Google Analytics for WordPress, Lightbox 2, MapPress Easy Google Maps, Multiple Category Selection Widget, NextGEN Gallery, Query Posts, Scroll To Top, Simple Facebook Connect, Simple Twitter Connect – Base, STC – Login, The Events Calendar, Widget Logic, WordPress Category Archive, WordPress Importer, WPtouch

Currently reported ical issues (only the ones with a * are effecting me):
iCal import whole calendar – file error
    * iCal import whole calendar – recurring events don’t show up
iCal import single event – button doesn’t work
Google cal import single event – 414

I would note that I am not having the same issues as Andy in 2.0.4. I still have the ical recurring events issue but I can generate and subscribe to my ical.

Maybe try deleting your files and reinstalling or check for a plugin conflict.

Just checking in. I installed 2.0.4 and it doesn’t appear that this is fixed yet. Maybe someone could confirm whether there is supposed to be a fix for this yet.

Just thought I would make a note on this issue – I didn’t check until now but it seems that the update to 2.0.3 of Pro has resolved the conflict. Not sure what you did but everything is working just dandy in WPTouch, SGC, and SFC. Happy happy joy joy! Thanks guys.

For me if I look at the actual content of the feed through feedvalidator I see the recurring posts with all of their recurrences but they do not show up when imported into Google Calendar. For instance the first recurring event that shows up in the feed is “Richard’s Care Group”:

    http://feedvalidator.org/check.cgi?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.hcfsidney.ca%2Fevents%2Fical%2F

Doing a search of the validator page reveals 21 entries (a couple of those are not part of the recurring event but the rest are).

In Google Calendar only one instance of the recurring event shows up – the rest do not. It doesn’t make sense and there seems to be no reason to which instance of the recurring event shows on the calendar. Sometimes its the first occurrence but sometimes it is one 2-3 months away.

Otto from SFC, SGC, STC suggested that something like this could be an issue:

Actions and filters are NOT the same thing…

I get the gist of it but it is still a bit over my head. Sorry I’m not more help 🙁

I am getting similar behavior as Andy. I do not have quick edit for recurring events. I also am only getting one occurrence of recurring events in my feed. There doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason to which date of the recurring events is chosen to show up.

I’ve also now discovered that activating Simple Facebook Connect breaks the iCal feed. Running feed validator shows the feed not validating even with SFC disabled (http://feedvalidator.org/check.cgi?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.hcfsidney.ca%2Fevents%2Fical%2F). I checked another person’s site and they get the same syntax error I get.
The only difference with SFC active is that the feed appears to be empty…weird!

WPtouch also conflicts…will leave disabled for now but I would be really interested to see which is the plugin that is offending and how that could be fixed.

Just tried deactivating all plugins and activating EC and EC Pro only and it worked so I am looking at a plugin conflict with Simple Google Connect which is in beta so I’m dumping SGC for now.
