Participantmy widget seems to be different.

I do, however, have a ‘work-around.’ I found that if I don’t choose a category it picks up all the events I want to see.Barbara Spence
ParticipantThanks for your reply Hunter,
Yes, I ran through the troubleshooting steps.
I think I have narrowed this down to a widget.
On the front page of our site, we have a list of upcoming ‘SATP wide’ events and ‘group meetings’ that gives our ‘subgroups’ upcoming meetings on the calendar.
The widget gives a selection between categories, but only one category is allowed.
I think what I need is the ability to add multiple categories into the widget.
As a temporary work-around I have posted 2 instances of the widget, one for meetings and the other for our main quarterly meetings.

Has this feature recently changed? Can You help me add multiple categories to this widget?Barbara Spence
ParticipantSimple fix. Firet step was to pay close attention to the version numbers. I found I was relying too much on the update feature of WordPress. I did, in fact, have 3.7 installed but the WP update didn’t show an update available.
I inactivated the Events Calendar 3.7 and restarted WP. Only then did WP offer an update of EC Pro to 3.8. After I manually updated, then all is matched and nag message went away.
Thanks Barry, it’s all good now.Barbara Spence
ParticipantThanks Casey,
I installed the plugin, simple-custom-css and added your reference code,
.recurringinfo { display: none; }
Thanks for your help.Barbara Spence

ParticipantLook at te attached screenshot. URL is:http://sanantonioteaparty.us/
We would like to not display the “recurring” data.
Sorry, I looked into CSS stylesheet and could not find the element.
Thanks for your help, Casey.Barbara Spence
ParticipantKelly,
Disregard the message above. I was able to find the right spot in our theme CSS to make the change. When I adjusted the distance for the tool-tip, then the user is able to click on the event link and see the event. Evidently when the tool-tip obscures the link, clicking on it only shows a blank part of the tool-tip.
It’s FIXED!Barbara Spence
ParticipantKelly,
I found this code, but I cannot figure where to put the CSS. My first trial and error tries did not work.
Also, I had a reply from a level 2 tech that referred me to a different forum and now cannot find it. can you help me with that?Barbara Spence
ParticipantSo I re-installed the current version and now our sidebar events list doesn’t work at all. Tension and frustration is building.

ParticipantI am trying to downgrade, following the instructions to go down from 3.03 to 3.02. The installation fails, giving me the following message:Unpacking the packageā¦
Installing the pluginā¦
Destination folder already exists. /home2/satp9837/public_html/wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/
Plugin install failed.

ParticipantWill do. So far I have been doing the testing on our production site. I can set up a testing site over the weekend; today I am on a deadline for a newsletter publishing.
The linked article refers to free version, we us Pro. If you send me the link for Pro, I will revert our production site and I will set up a bare bones test site for 3.0 and be ready to work with a developer next week.
Thanks Kelly!Barbara Spence
ParticipantOur custom theme was made 6 years ago by a developer in Italy, now unavailable. We are not ready to re-do the whole appearance of our site, so that is a dead-end.
The previous version worked fine. Where do I find instructions on how to roll back to the most recent version?Barbara Spence
ParticipantInterestingly when I select the individual event from the sidebar widget the info displays properly.

ParticipantKelly, I started over this morning. I inactivated all plugins, switched to Twenty-Twelve theme (I believe in my earlier test I used Twenty-Thirteen) , reactivated Event Calendar and Pro (only) and verified the Event Calendar works properly in the WP Theme.
I returned to our custome theme and reactivate core necessary plugins and now the calendar works somewhat. In the month view, they show and the ‘tip’ text shows, however I cannot click then go to the individual event. It stays in the month view.

ParticipantThanks Kelly, I thought you had that information from the checkboxes. Yes, I de-activated everything and switched to twenty-thirteen. Same results.

Today is our peak day of the week. I would rather not switch themes today, but tomorrow is good, early in CST morning.
Your help is appreciated. -
