it’s been about 6 hours since I plugged in the new license key. I expected the alert to disappear by now. My client is becoming anxious.

    Hi Donald,

    I’m sorry you’re experiencing difficulties.

Am I right in thinking you updated The Events Calendar to 3.8, but Events Calendar PRO is still at version 3.7? If so, that would explain why you are seeing a nag message.

Are you able to go ahead and update Events Calendar PRO, too? Please ensure you have entered your license key (in Events > Settings > Licenses first of all!).

Let me know if that helps 🙂

Simple fix. Firet step was to pay close attention to the version numbers. I found I was relying too much on the update feature of WordPress. I did, in fact, have 3.7 installed but the WP update didn’t show an update available.
I inactivated the Events Calendar 3.7 and restarted WP. Only then did WP offer an update of EC Pro to 3.8. After I manually updated, then all is matched and nag message went away.
Thanks Barry, it’s all good now.

    Glad to hear it 🙂

There can occasionally be a delay before WordPress reports that an update is available – simply because if it checked on every single request there would be a lot of unneeded delay – and so going to the actual update screen (found as a sub-menu item under Dashboard) is often worth a try as this usually triggers a refresh.

In any case, awesome that everything is resolved and I’ll go ahead and close out this thread – but of course if anything else crops up definitely create a new thread and let us know.

Last but not least, if you have a moment to spare we’d love to hear your thoughts on The Events Calendar in general over on our plugin review page – it’s always great to hear from our customers and learn about your experiences.

    Thanks again!
