    FWIW I went to the uservoice forum, added my vote and comments there. While there I noticed that someone implied I could export using the standard WP exporter function for transferring events to another WP website. I’m happy to report it worked. It was a bit clunky, and would have been better if I could export events, venues, and organizers all at once, but it was nonetheless far superior to copying and pasting the numerous events I already had that were relevant.

    Sorry to whine so much. It WAS available in My Account. But nonetheless, why doesn’t it show up as a simple upgrade link in my WP admin plug-ins page? Having to download and upload is sooooooo old-fashioned and a PITA.

    Where is the update for Community Events to v3.8? It doesn’t register in the Admin Panel of WP, and I don’t see where I can download an updated version on this site? It should be visible from My Account shouldn’t it?

    Correction – I just upgraded Pro to v3.8. When I upgraded the basic Calendar the warning to upgrade the Pro version didn’t update on my screen. Anyway, same issue. Apparently Community Events 3.3 doesn’t like Events Pro 3.8 or 3.7.

    I finally decided to try to enable Community Events – it wouldn’t work for me last year and I don’t have the patience to debug this stuff, either it works or it doesn’t – and ONCE AGAIN there appears to be an incompatibility issue with versions.

    Your site lists compatibilities for versions of this Plug-In in the V 2.x time frame, nothing listed (that I can find EASILY) regarding v3.x.

    I just upgraded the basic Events calendar to 3.8. The Pro version is 3.7. Community Events is 3.3. When I activate it, it tells me the versions are incompatible. WP is v3.9. WHEN is this ever going to mesh? I paid for it a year a ago and it still doesn’t work as far as I’m concerned.

    LIFO – Yes, there are several events I am familiar with that are multi-day events that have different start and end times on each day. Consider a 3 day festival from Fri-Sun. Everyone works Fridays, so the organizers begin the events for Friday late in the day. Saturday goes from 7am to 10pm, and Sunday is shortened to allow for travel home. It is a single, cohesive event that folks may only attend one day of and knowing times is part of planning for the event.

    Re: The User CSS plug-in not working. I loaded it on my test site which doesn’t use Pro, hence the reason it probably didn’t create the /events folder like it said it would. But that brings up another issue. The license is limited to one site, but I need to load it on my test site as well so I can proof things before going live on the “real” site. How do I overcome that?

    Re: All I want to do is be able to control the font (size, family, bold, color, etc) of the Events Title for each event shown in the Events List Widget. I can do so for the .duration of the event, but not the name (title) of the event. Very weird that this class selector is so elusive, or ineffective.

    A check on the suggestion of .widget-area .widget a {} did the usual….nyet. It isn’t my biggest issue anymore though I would like to resolve it and cross it off the list.

    I’ll use this space to also embellish a request for new features. Added my vote for having different start and end times for each day of a multi-day event. Please account for displaying this information (if you add it) on the Events List Widget. Thanks!

    So it appears I need TEC User CSS plug-in to keep it “simple.” I downloaded it, then I checked the plug-in’s site and it said:
    Automatically load /my-theme/events/events.css if it exists using wp_enqueue_style.

    But it didn’t or I don’t understand what this is implying.
    As for the class selector, I need to go try that.

    Thanks. Didn’t know about that plug-in.

    To answer your earlier question – I don’t like the default formatting of the Events List Widget. Regarding the Title, I just want to change the font, style, and color in the widget. I can do that for the Duration of the event, but not the Title. Not yet.

    Since it takes longer to wait for a response than try it, my last Q was semi in vain, but not without reason. Making the changes outlined above to ../my-theme/tribe-events/pro/calendar-widget.css does NOT work. But, changes to ../my-theme/tribe-events/pro/tribe-events-pro.css DO.

    Thanks for the tip…but no cigar. That did NOT do the trick. Here’s what I have so far. All control what I want them to control, EXCEPT the display of the Event Title in the Event List Widget.

    .hfeed.vcalendar{
    margin-left: 5px;}

    .tribe-events-list-widget ol li {
    margin-bottom: 8px;
    list-style: none;
    }

    .tribe-events-adv-list-widget h4.event-title.summary a {
    font-weight: bold;
    color: #CC9966;
    }

    .tribe-events-list-widget .duration {
    font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif !important;
    font-size:11px;
    font-weight: normal;
    color:#3388a9
    }

    I can live with it as is, so on to my next Q. This is all within wp-content/themes/my-theme/tribe-events/tribe-events.css for the free version of Events Calendar. For the Pro version the Tribe tutorials say to put this in the theme folder as follows:

    wp-content/themes/my-theme/tribe-events/pro

    But what CSS file do I modify? tribe-events-pro.css OR widget-calendar.css. Seems like the latter, but since it IS different that the free version I want to be extra clear up front. Thanks for your help.

    I’ve had some success (see http://www.demo.earnyourturns.com), but still cannot figure out what EXACT class definition will control the display of the Event Title in the Event List Widget.

    Okay, a few more details.

    The site I’m working out the details on is http://www.demo.earnyourturns.com. The site that uses the calendar for public viewing is the same, minus the .demo. part of the URL. In both cases I’m using a child theme based on Graphene. The Events Calendar widget is in the R sidebar in both cases, about 2 or 3 widgets down from the top.

    I’m going to be using the Events List widget in the Pro version, which, near as I can tell is the same as the events widget in the basic version (3.0.1).

    So…here’s what I want to fix. The margin-left for the entire list of events is WAY to large (29px). I want it reduced to 5px but can’t figure out what to modify. I also want to be able to control the spacing between events (standard spacing of 30px is, again, WAY too much), as well as the font for the title of the event, and the time (duration) of the event.

    Here is what I have for themes/grapheneyt/tribe-events/tribe-events.css:

    /* Change space between events listed in Events Widget ——-
    ——- */

    .tribe-events-list-widget ol li {
    margin-left: 5px;
    margin-bottom: 8px;
    list-style: none;
    }

    h4.ol.hfeed.vcalendar {
    margin-left: 5px;
    }

    .tribe-events-list-widget .entry-title summary{
    font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif !important;
    font-size:14px;
    font-weight: bold;
    color: #FFCC99
    }

    .tribe-events-list-widget .duration{
    font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif !important;
    font-size:11px;
    font-weight: normal;
    color:#0099FF
    }

    One other question/point. Some other support forums recommend using the back tick to denote the beginning and end of code. No such indication on this forum. Is that general WordPress support forum protocol? How would a newbie like me know that?

    Thanks Reid for trying. I tried the CSS band-aid. No workey. But, I did take a look at the plug-ins. Most I was unwilling to even try deactivating since they are important to my sites existing functionality. Fortunately the one I tried, whose functionality is superceded by the Publicize function from Jetpack, when deactivated, cured the problem. The trouble was a conflict with “Simple Facebook Connect” by Otto. Plug-in site is here: http://ottopress.com/wordpress-plugins/simple-facebook-connect/

    It’s probably an okay plug-in, but frankly required more syncronizing with FB than I was willing to invest the time in. So, no great loss. Thank you for your help. Onward to the next stumbling block. 😉
