    Hi Geoff,

I have enabled all the views we need to test for you again.

If you need the details to login to the tribe acc we created, let me know.

    Hello again Geoff,

I did find the button to purge duplicate venues and organisers, however there was no GMT/timezone update. Only a drop down to change timezones (which we need to keep as is due to events on either side of Australia).

Hopefully you can find the sys info in the last thread i replied to. We also have a user acc set up for Tribe to help us troubleshoot.

Thank you for your assistance once again.

    Hi Geoff!

Thanks for the reply. Yes indeed! I meant the 30th 😛

In saying that what I had found in testing was that when we had the “list” view on, it was matching events in May (not just events with the reoccurrence that would cross over from May to June).

Our list view was also causing other issues I had posted threads about (you can see my lasts posts on this thread – my sys info is also there https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/filter-bar-not-filtering-events-with-additional-fields/)

I’ll turn list view back on for you to see.

As for the reoccurrence rules – we did figure this out in the end that the start and end date had to be the same. Then the rules would work properly.

    Looking forward to your reply!

Okay, so doing some more testing. It seems to trigger a search on map view. When i switch to list view it does execute any search when selecting a custom filter.

I want to make List View our default view as users find the map view superfluous when the events contain a map of the event.

    Hi Nico,

I’ve started up a number of other threads regarding issues we’ve run into now that we’ve been intensively testing.

One of the biggest requests is custom filters by Age. So we are needing to get this working…

Currently with the Age custom filter enabled on the front end, clicking an age doesn’t trigger a search of events. It just hangs

Sorry to resurrect this issue, however its now become a necessity.

None of our filters have the autocomplete option selected so this isn’t the issue for this particular problem.

    Cheers,
    Jo

    Hi Nico,

    Hope you’re well!

A couple of other questions: our week view doesn’t seem to be populating any events into it (its currently disabled because of this) Would you happen to know why?

Also Month view, when viewed on mobile, doesn’t populate events underneath it when you click on a day. The only link that works on the mobile month view is clicking the actual date (number) which opens up day view for the particular date.

Your assistance, as always, is much appreciated.

    Kind regards,
    Jo

    Hi Nico,

I had previously tried the autocomplete feature as I stated back in my reply on the 23rd of May and I don’t remember it working. However trying it this morning has given results!

The problem with this fix, is that we need desperately need the autocomplete feature as our calendar is massive and having to scroll through 50+ venues comes with usability issues.

Will this Javascript conflict going to be resolved in a future update?

    Hi Nico,

    Hope you’re well.

Just giving you an update on things. All the problems we are currently running into all seem to be triggered by the filter bar plugin we purchased off you guys.

    1. The Views drop down – as discussed previously, when its on, the links die. When we turn it back off, the links work.

    2. Searching for events seems to cause issues with the filter bar turned on – e.g going to the Adelaide landing page: http://calendar.childmags.com.au/events/category/adelaide/ with filter bar turned on – you can clearly see there are events for the Zoo. When a query is made in search bar for “Zoo” it returns no results. With the filter bar turned off, it returns the results you’d expect.

To answer you last questions – we are currently sitting on 10,600 events (most of these are due to the reoccurring events which we have set for 3 months ahead otherwise it would completely overload the db).

Unfortunately we didn’t have all these events uploaded on our staging server at the time – they’ve all be uploaded live.

    Regards,
    Jo

    Hi Nico,

Just to give you an update. We have gotten month view working (albeit only accessing it via a permalink). What was causing this issue was lack of memory allocated to wordpress…

What is strange though, is that we had to jack up the wordpress memory limit to 1Gb for it to work properly (at 512Mb we stopped receiving errors).

That seems MASSIVE. We do have a very large calendar of events, however we’d like to know why it needs such a huge amount of RAM?

As for the views drop down menu not linking correctly, we’ve noticed that the links have a ‘#’ at the end of them which we know is a dead link, just not sure whats causing it to create this link.

We’ve contacted Avada also to find out if its something on their end.

    Cheers

    Hi Nico,

Thanks very much for having a look at our site. You perfectly timed it to look while we were having db issues.

I’ve partly given up on the custom filters for now as the default ones seem to work okay and will run with them for phase 1 of our launch. I did however switch the venue from autocomplete to drop down.

We doubled the amount of server resources and allocated more RAM to mysql to help speed things up.

The one thing that we still just can’t wrap our head around is why month view loads a blank page. Works on our local host with the Avada theme installed 🙁 sad times. Are you able to have another look at Month view now that our db seems to be working?

    Cheers

Nico, we are back at square one after a wasted day of development. So disregard that last post.

All we did was uncheck the display view options under The Events Calendar and changed the default view to be something else and it decided to load all our data again. Cannot figure out the logic in that but it’s some better news either way.

Month view still doesn’t load at all: http://calendar.childmags.com.au/events/category/sydney/month/

Just to clarify: we switched to the default wordpress theme and deactivated all plugins besides the Tribe ones. Still couldn’t get it to work.

We did a full clean install of wordpress + theme and plugins on our local server and still couldn’t get it to work. Its so odd.

Thanks for clarifying about the distance filter. Got that to show.

So we’ve run into some more issues. We tried reinstalling the events calendar and the events calendar pro onto the site. This has broken the /events/ page and all the other views like list etc. We’ve rolled back to the original files we had in place for both the plugins but that changed nothing and it is still broken. Seems to be some disconnect with the plugin and pulling up those views but a single event page for an event is still loading for some reason so the plugin as a whole is not offline. Also the backend for the plugins seems to still be exactly the same.

Do you know anyways to fix this? Alternatively we have recreated parts of our site locally, we created a fresh wordpress install with a fresh avada theme and installed the events calendar and events calendar pro. This is working fine for now of course it has none of our content or settings. If we could export the data from the live site and put it into the events calendar locally we could check if that is the issue though we are not sure how. I have tried duplicating the live sites database and hooking the local install to it however it does not want to work with it, getting lots of database errors when we tried that.

    Hi Nico,

Thanks for the suggestions however this hasn’t narrowed down anything for me (its only brought more problems to light).

I’ve disabled all the filters then reenabled them one by one. This didn’t seem to change anything.

I’ve also noticed that i cannot get the “distance” filter to show at all anymore.

One thing positive is that the “views” drop down seems to be working slightly again (albeit without Month view which won’t load at all).

And on Photo View http://calendar.childmags.com.au/events/category/sydney/photo/ if i select any of the filters, it breaks the bar. As it won’t allow me to click on anything else in the filter bar.

I’m running short of time here as the project is meant to be complete by the end of the week.
