ParticipantActually we don’t use our dev site anymore – only for testing. I guess it’s best to move The Events Calendar Pro license that we renewed yesterday (the one outside of the NGO package) to our main production site, and deactivate the current license on our main production site – which is as part of the NGO package along with the other plugin. Is that the best way to go forward?

ParticipantThanks George! I have just renewed the license. Do I need to move this license from our dev site to our main site to receive support or is it fine to just leave that on our dev site?

ParticipantHi Hunter,
Thanks for your reply. The Additional Fields option does help us add the email field we were after, but I’m wondering if we can further customise the additional fields sections –
1) Is it possible to move the additional fields section in the form? We want to move it to the top of the form and also remove/change the title ‘additional fields’
2) Is there a way to make any of the additional fields mandatory to fill in?
Thanks!

ParticipantHi Josh,
Thanks for getting back to me on this. It’s such a shame that Community Events is not compatible with WPML in this regard. We do hope that there will be a fix in the near future otherwise we might have to consider looking at another plugin, as the ‘Submit An Event’ section is a very integral part of our website.
Thanks,

ParticipantHi Josh,
So, I tried creating a post with the ‘pending review’ – actually it didn’t show up on the dashboard, but it showed up as ‘pending’ in the posts section itself. With regards to the events, I didn’t mean the dashboard – similarly, I meant under the ‘Events’ section, under the pending filter.
So in that instance, under the Events tab – I have the filters: All, Published, Mine & Pending (this filter only shows up if there are pending events). If an event is submitted, there is sometimes a number next to this filter e.g. Pending (1), but when we click into it, there are no events shown.
I also just tested if I, from the WP backend, create an event and set it as ‘pending review’ whether it appears in the pending filter, and whether I can go into that filter and open it – and it does work. So it seems like only when an event is submitted from the ‘Submit An Event’ page on the website, it doesn’t properly show up in the filter (even though it technically does show that there is a pending event there as indicated by the number in brackets). The only way for us to then check the event is to click into it from the hyperlink provided in the auto-generated email, and then when we do, the date seems to reset to the day the event was submitted (also the same as the date the email was received), rather than the actual event date input in the submission.
So to answer your second question – events are getting submitted. It works – it takes you to the submission complete page. It then sends an email to the email we’ve provided saying that an event has been submitted and is pending approval. We go into the backend of wordpress, to the events section (events tab) and can see that there is a pending event – but when we click this filter, we see no events (unless of course we click to view the pending event through the hyperlink provided in the email). So in essence, yes, it seems like WPML is preventing us from seeing the pending events (that have been submitted from the ‘Submit An Event’webpage) in the events section itself.
Hope that makes a little more sense!
Thanks,

ParticipantHi Josh,
Thanks for your reply! We did follow the Testing for Conflicts procedure and got some strange results..
It seems that the plugin that may be affecting the submission date is ‘WPML Multilingual CMS’.
Firstly, disabling all plugins and testing the submission – the date showed up fine on the back-end pending section of the events.
But, we also tested the submission once again with all the plugins enabled – this time it showed that there was an extra event in the pending section (for approval), but when we clicked into this section, all we could see was the previous pending event (the one we submitted when testing the submissions with all the plugins disabled). When we disabled the ‘WPML Multilingual CMS’ plugin, we suddenly saw the missing event (the one we tested with all plugins enabled) in the pending section, and the submission date was correct.
So it seems like the plugin affects the event submission in that it delays/stops the event submission from being seen in the pending section (for approval). We noticed this before, but thought it might be that it takes a bit of time for the event submission to show up in the back end. To add to this, we do still get the auto-generated email telling us the event has been submitted. If we click on the link within this email, it takes us to the event allowing us to approve it. If we, at that same time were to manually go to the pending section of the events, it shows an event there in brackets e.g. ‘Pending (1)’, but when we click on the pending tab, there is often nothing there.
So, I’m a little confused about two things:
1) How long does it generally take for a submitted event to properly show up in the back-end?
2) Is it possible that because the plugin seems to be delaying/stopping the submitted event from showing up that the date automatically resets?Hope that all makes sense. Let me know if you have any further suggestions!
Thanks,

ParticipantHi Josh,
I hadn’t got round to applying the overriding the CSS, but strangely after disabling the Better WP Minify Plugin to test something else, we noticed that the submission form was working perfectly fine – and none of the styling had been affected (as previously was).
So guess we don’t need to tweak any of the css files! Thanks for all your help!

ParticipantThanks Geoff – will check once again with the thememakers and see what they have to say.
Please do leave the thread open in case we do have any further questions.

ParticipantHi,
I’ve tried the testing as you’ve suggested and it’s quite strange – it appears that the mobile navigation works when two plugins are disabled – ‘WooCommerce’ and ‘Contact Form 7’. If either one of these two plugins is enabled then it doesn’t work – suggesting that both these plugins affect the sub-menu mobile navigation issue.
Let me know how you think we should proceed!
Thanks,

ParticipantHi there Geoff,
We had just been in touch with the thememakers to help sort out the select-2 issue; they have solved this from the theme end, but they have mentioned that there may be a plugin issue causing this:
Uncaught ReferenceError: google is not defined
http://dev.cdchk.org/wp-content/plugins/events-calendar-pro/src/resources/js/tribe-events-ajax-maps.min.js?ver=4.0.5Do you know anything about this? And how we can go about correcting this. Checking the mobile issue now, we can actually see the drop-down arrows, but once we click them, they expand briefly showing the second layer menu items before closing again – so we can’t actually access/click into any of these items.
Please refer to http://dev.cdchk.org/events/ on mobile to see this issue again.
Thanks!

ParticipantHi Nico,
Thanks for replying – will try what you’ve suggested and hopefully it works! I assume it’s just a case of overriding the community events styling with the styling of the default theme’s events.
Hope it works!
Thanks for the help!

ParticipantHi Josh,
Thanks for your reply.
I believe the plugin (Better WordPress Minify) we were using was helping us to override the theme’s style settings and use the default Event Calendar settings? So disabling it makes it look like it does. Is there another easy way to override the theme’s style settings with the default settings of the events calendar/community events style settings?
In terms of editing and customising sizing etc., we had actually done this already in the theme’s custom CSS – but once I disabled the plugin it stopped working. I added the text
!importantto the line of code and it seemed to work and override the theme settings.January 19, 2016 at 12:26 am in reply to: Community Events – Add Organizer / Add another rule #1058324CDC
ParticipantHi there,
I have tried disabling the ‘Better WordPress Minify’ plugin and though the ‘Add Organizer’ and ‘Add Rule’ functions work – they extend to the full width of the page and don’t follow the rest of the styling of the page.
In addition, the currency symbol field is cut not showing the full text – which I had fixed earlier in the custom CSS. Is there a reason for this? Would there be a way to work around the plugin if activated?
Please see the page I am describing here – http://dev.cdchk.org/events/community/add/
Is this how the page naturally should display or have we disabled some of the styling settings by deactivating the ‘Better WordPress Minify’ plugin?
Thanks,
CDCCDC
ParticipantThanks for your reply George. It’s a shame that the plugin is not compatible for this. Am a bit surprised that this issue hasn’t been raised by anyone else? As anyone running a duel language/bilingual (with a language other than English) site would experience this I presume? Hope there is a workaround soon – as we are very much looking to make the events and event submission a primary feature of our website.
Thanks again,
CDCCDC
ParticipantHi there,
Are there any updates on how we can solve this?
Thanks!
