    Rob,
    Life is too short. Thanks for letting me know. As I may have said – we basically arent able to use the product, so when it wasnt there I assumed you all ran into a problem, and I let it go. We still love the calendar, and I appreciate the assistance. I will peruse the docs, but we have moved past it and found a solution, which we needed to do. Just sad I was advised to buy a product that we cannot use.

    Rob,
    If you are referring to the readme.txt and the three screenshots that come with it yes. If there is something else, I havent found it and I have gone through each php file within the plugin in an attempt to understand what it is doing and how. I have found no other docs. I did read the primer – and I read what I could find online in addition to that. The question I am asking is about custom fields. I have read the wordpress codex about custom fields also, so I am trying to gain the knowledge I need, but I found a workaround by not using the product for now and using easy digital downloads directly. Which unfortunately works for us. Since there were no real online docs when I purchased, there was no way of knowing if this would work, except for a recommendation from your staff. I look forward to having some reading material on monday. Thank you for the assistance.

    Rob, took me a while to find it again.. but it is at the bottom of the new primer doc – https://tri.be/support/documentation/edd-tickets-new-user-primer/
    where it refers to dev minded docs on a doc page (We have dev-minded docs over at our docs page,) (which you normally have and which I love and which I looked at the page before buying the product – but did not click on the link. my fault for not clicking). I am hoping this means there are some docs somewhere.. but nothing google can find outside of your website.. I have looked.

    Chris,
    Thanks for the tip.. I am trying to add custom fields to the events and then print them on the ticket. New to php, and tried to take the fields and plop them into the class-ticket-email.php.. but to no avail.
    I thought I could just mimic the security code field, but it gives errors out the wazoo.. so clearly my logic is off. The wootickets format is slightly different and being a php duh (this week), I am not sure how to proceed. Any hint you can give me would be amazing.
    I added two fields I would like to pass on – an event url – which is the page we will stream from – and event passcode which will be the password on the event page that must be typed in by the viewer. Julie suggested we just drop the passcode into the image of the header – but I would really like the link to be clickable – both from the ticket and from the event listing.
    Any hint you can give me would be amazing. Thanks.

    Julie,
    Without EDD tickets, the solution would be imperfect. We love the Calendar and the community events and the EDD ticket works with that. The wonderful calendar your company has come up with is what will make our products stronger, so no, it would not work without the ticketing. which is why I wrote.. because I love your products. Thank you so much for your time and your assistance. I am buying the product today.

    I did not realize we could password protect a page in wordpress.. and clearly we can.. so Thank you for that one.. that should be all we need with the ticket solutions. Thank you so much.. Your patience in explaining helped tremendously.

    Yes, it all makes sense, I guess what I am asking is about the mechanism for the password-protected page – is that within either your edd tickets – which my guess is not – or is it within the digital download (which I downloaded today and have not had time to fully investigate – but I see there are links in there). In other words, would I need another mechanism for password protected pages in wp – or would either of these two combined plugins provide that mechanism. If we have a password I am ok with it – of course some people will share – but if we could have protection on the page i feel like it would be pretty buttoned down – but no perfect. This is my first word press project – but not my first project – so my understanding of word press is unfortunately limited.

    Julie, thanks for the response I will check the primer, but my question is – does it limit others that may want to access the page? the events are searchable and if someone found the page, they would have access. would the ticket in any way have security behind it to verify it was authentic – as the ticket link could be shared if the email was passed on. I appreciate your taking the time to look into this for me.

    I prefer an deeper answer. So yes of course it is perfect that you take the time you need. We would be looking to restrict one page per event – the page with the webinar in it. I had looked at EDD and from what I could read (your docs are always great), I honestly could not tell if it would work for our needs. I appreciate the assistance.

    No it is not something I am happy with, but it allows us to operate with the best calendar we could find. I have had absolutely no response from the theme group. They honestly barely answer the posts. I do not have the time right now to go as indepth into the code as I would need to. So we have a work around that allows us to operate. We are in beta testing, and I will hopefully be able to get the site set (for now) and find a way to get the search going.. I know from what I have read that your code does not work as well with permalinks.. and we use permalinks.. which we are in too deep to change now.. so it may be a long term issue.. if I can get the events to work in the post search (which I will try to do) on the website, we will have an acceptable workaround.. I understand it is up the integrator to make these changes.. which is why I chose your calendar.. most places do not document and your stuff is so well documented, I knew it would be a huge positive for us. I have been working 15-18 hour days for three weeks now and am getting a little frustrated.. but it is not your fault and the nature of the business..

    PS.. Please know.. I worked hard to get it as functional as possible because I obviously believe you have a superior product. I just wish I could use it as per the design.. But it is by far the best most thorough event calendar I could find, and I looked hard. Because it will be the backbone of our site – which is why I really wish I could use the full functionality

    Hey Barry,
    I knew this was a potential problem when I posted this. My problem is not with you. You are absolutely right – you tried to help me.. But right now I am in between a rock and a hard place. The themers say it is not their problem.. the plugins say it is not their problem. I am stuck in the middle of code with no idea where to go.. trying to find a solution. I go on this forum site today and see in great big Yellow on the top of the forum a post from a year ago about how it is not up to Modern tribe to assist with theme based problems. It is right up on top – and I see people with the same error message in other posts being told the same as me – go to the theme creators. I am a developer. I dont give up. I had to find a solution. This is not about you. It is about Modern Tribe – I was dissappointed because I know I purchased it because it was a great product with what appeared to be great support. I figured with the kind of docs I saw I would get help if I needed it, but in the end, you had to pass it off to the Theme – because that is how it is done. And I am left here with no answers. I would think with multiple people with the same problem, there would be some incentive to know what code was getting squashed. Do we know it is polyfilling? Not sure. Did you do your best – Yes I absolutely believe you did and I see you trying repeatedly with individuals trying to do your best(I have been pouring through these posts trying to gleem some kind of understanding of what is going on). You seem to be the man on the front lines and I appreciate it. It simply as a business model does not make sense to me. Do you know the themes specific code – no.. Does the theme creator know your code – no.. So, where does that leave me? That is my point.
    But I will say Barry, that after pouring through threads I know you are doing your best every day. I apologize for insulting you in any way, It was not my intention, although I knew it was a possibility.
    I simply would like to understand how to correct the problem without having to disable the functions and redirecting links that make no sense.

    You know, I love your product, and I was amazed at the docs, but I am a little surprised at the support. I had to find a way around this without your assistance really, and I figured you guys would know your code better than me. In addition I have found others with the same exact problem on your boards. And what is offered appears to be no support. I purchased a supported theme, that had passed the standards, and yes when I switched it out to the default theme you test with your product worked. But I guess to me – a company that makes such an amazing product would realize it would not work with all themes. There are a billion ways to code, and a plugin would expect potential conflicts. At least I would think so. I still love the product, just dont get the support style. I would love to think peter who is having a problem will find a solution.. because I know that it made a few days of grinding through this stuff.. I do not feel the problem is fixed in any way, I have just found a way to operate around what is clearly a conflict in code. I truly hope at some point, someone looks at this as an actual problem, but I get from reading the docs online that this is not how Modern Tribe appears to function. Sad Really, I purchased both pro and community to support your group and to ensure I had support in what will be a production environment.

    I had already referred it out to them.. trying to be proactive.. but I included your last comment to help.. hopefully.. we truly love your product – it is everything we need, so we truly hope we can come to a resolution as I see others have had the problem.

    ok.. to be more specific, I removed the code from the theme, the reference to the code (wp-content/themes/infographer/js/custom_js.php) still stayed in the page – so not sure if it made a difference to what you suggested.
