Howdy,
I guess my client changed his mind, so I think we can call this one closed.
Thanks for your help!

Thanks for your ongoing help with this issue and sorry about the hiccups in your new forums. I feel your pain!
The code you gave me for my functions.php file worked great; thanks. However, I’d like to remove the date boxes and just have a text list:
How can I do that?
Thanks.

December 18, 2014 at 11:53 am in reply to: Need help modifying timestamp location in Events List widget #922613ajParticipantHi Brooke,
Thanks for your reply!
We were using the list widget, but just to be on the safe side, I deleted the widget, then put it back. As you can see, we’ve still got the same thing going on.
For a solution to my problem, I’m looking to have the time/date stamp on the line above the event title. I’d also like to get rid of that unstyled date (“Thu 09”).
I may have made a child of the file that controls the event list widget, but I can’t figure out which file it is. Can you give me the name of the file, and I’ll rename it (so it doesn’t over-ride the default file), and see if that removes the unstyled bit?
And also, can you help me with which code goes where (I’m assuming in that same child file) to move the date stamp above the event name?
Thanks a bunch!

I don’t see any suggestions from you about how to accomplish this. Am I missing your response, or did we have a communications misfire? In any case, I still need some help.
Thanks!

OK, I have 3.6 installed. I’ve looked through it (both the plugin settings and the single-event.php), but I’m not seeing how to remove the end time from the single event meta info.
Can you tell me how to do it, please?
Thanks.

I’m seeing end times on the calendar view pop-ups (http://www.bigtop.org/events/month/) as well as in the meta section.
I think that’ll do it.
Thanks!

Did I do something wrong there, maybe?ajParticipantHowdy,
I think I’m on the right track. I took another look at the Themer’s Guide, and realized that my modified list-widget.php needs to be in /themes/THEME-NAME/tribe-events/pro/widgets/. I put it there, and I think it’s getting applied.
Please give me a shout if I need to do something else. Otherwise, I’ll consider this issue resolved.
Thanks again!

ajParticipantOK, under the heading of “heck if I know; let’s try it,” I renamed the directories in my themes folder (“events,” and “tribe-events”) with my changes to The Events Calendar so they wouldn’t be processed. After renaming “tribe-events,” that information is back on the page, so now I know where the problem is and can dig into that a little better.
I think I’m good to go with this issue for now, but I’ll come back here if I have more issues of information that pertains to this issue.
Thanks again for your help, Barry!
Best!

ajParticipantHi Barry – Thanks for your response.
I *have* customized the template a little, but not in the last week. In talking with my client, she noticed changes to the events this last Saturday, so that at least helps with the time frame. I did a few plugin updates at the beginning of last week, but as far as I can tell, things were working fine after them.
To try troubleshooting the plugin compatibility side of this problem, I disabled all my plugins one at a time, but nothing brought that data back.
What do you reckon our next move ought to be to figure this out?
Thanks again!

ajParticipantFor what it’s worth, I’m seeing the event content appear in the pop-up blurb from the calendar view for the event. It’s just not on the page.
ajParticipantThanks a bunch, Casey! That took care of my issue. Have a great weekend!

Thanks for getting back to me. Should I add that snippet to my functions.php file, or put it somewhere else?
Thanks!
