    Hi Courtney,

yes, that is of course an option I have considered, but I thought it might be more elegant to sort it dynamically in case categories are added, dropped or renamed.

    Thanks anyway and Happy Easter!

To illustrate what I mean: this is the section I want to adress 😉

Thanks so far, but the header section is not part of the loop, so I have to address it somewhere else. As I said, this is not a regular with a specific ID, so I can not apply a featured image to the section where the slug “Events” appears. I just want to ad a header image for the page that goes with the theme template.
    Thanks, Markus

I would like so second that. A field for the URL or E-Mail address would be highly useful. In the Organizers list it’s already implemented. If it could be done the same way for venues that would help a lot (and a custom photo would be cool too).

Robert, there is a very easy way to set the zoom in the embedded Google maps to a more detailed scale.
You just have to change one parameter in one file. It is called »event-map.php« in the free Events Calender plugin, folder »admin-views«
On line 17 there is a value for zoom, which is set to 8 by default. Replace 8 with 15 or 16 or 17, you have to try what suits your needs best. That should work fine.

    Have found out why.

If the permalink options are set to default, the URL slugs do not appear in the settings panel, you need to choose a different or custom setting. Didn’t know that. Topic closed 🙂

Hi Shane. Nope, this is the first install.

Have also disabled my current theme and tested it with the default twentyeleven. Changed the language in the wp-config.php and back – none of these had any effect.

Would like to test it on a different server first to make sure it is actual an issue of this specific environment.
    Will keep you updated, thanks.

    Hi everyone.

I just installed The Event Calender and Event Calender Pro via FTP. TEC was no problem but when I copied the folder »events-calender-pro« into the plugin directory it didn’t show up after refreshing the Plugin page in the WordPress Admin area. Then I had a closer look at the folder and noticed that it actually contained two direcories. One is named »the-events-plugin« and the other again »events-calender-pro«, same spelling as the parent folder. And I learned this is the actual TEC plugin. The content of the other folder seems to be identical with the free TEC, so as there are some difficulties with the Version 2 not showing up in the official WordPress Plugin repository I assume the Tribe-guys have bundled it with the pro-Version to make sure customer have both versions when purchasing ECP.

So I just copied the inner directory via FTP into the plugin direcory and had no problem activating it. My suggestion: unzip the ZIP downloaded from Tribe and then either uploading the inner nested »event-calender-pro« via FTP or zip that folder again and update via the plugin panel in WordPress.

If you open the »event-calender-pro« you will notice in contains 7 folders and 2 files, including a php-file with the name and description of the plugin in the header – which is needed to be recognised as a valid plug by WordPress – and that file needs to be in the root directory of the plugin folder.

    Hope this was helpful.
