ParticipantHi,
I am trying to update to the newest version of The Events Calendar Pro. It says though that my license key has expired, and I need to renew my license.
But I bought 1 year of The Events Calendar Pro in April, so my license should be viable until April 2018, right?
Regards,

MemberHi Christina!
Thanks for reaching out to us. Let me help you with this topic.
I’ve just checked and like you say, your license is valid until April 2018.
Could you please go to your wp-admin > Events > Settings > Licenses and verify that you have correctly placed your license under the The Events Calendar PRO license key field?
If it is, does it show as valid or do you get an error message? If you get an error message, please let me know which one and try deleting the license and save. Then input the license again and click save. Does it solve the issue?
Please let us know.
Thanks,

ParticipantHi,
The licence key was correctly placed in The Events Calendar PRO license key field and there was no error message. I did however delete the licence key, saved, then inserted the licence key again and saved.
Now it no longer says that I need to insert the licence key, but when I try updating the plugin, it says (in Norwegian) that the update package is not available.
Another problem I have had, since installing The Events Calendar PRO is that I am not able to view reaccuring events when I click on the event front end, to see the main page of the event.
Here is an example of a reacurring event, which I cannot click on. You can see it in the week/month view: https://www.nordictennis.no/event/uke/
But when I click on the events, Page not found: https://www.nordictennis.no/event/test-for-reacurring-event-every-week-for-example/2017-10-05/
Why is this?

MemberHi Christina!
Thanks for following up with this.
It’s good to know the license message no longer appears. The update package is not available message could be a glitch somehow. Are you having similar issues while trying to update other plugins for your site?
Please note that you can always perform a manual update by following the steps in this guide > https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/manual-updates/. Let me know if you have any follow up questions about this matter.
Regarding the recurring event issue, this could be related to the permalinks. A common fix is to “flush” your permalinks by going to Settings > Permalinks and simply clicking the Save Changes button. Does it work after this?
If it doesn’t, then it can be related to a theme or plugin conflict, so to narrow the problem down please go through the steps provided in the testing for conflicts guide > https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts/ and let us know what you find in the process.
Before testing for conflicts, you should make sure to update to the latest versions of our plugins. We always suggest to setup a dev/staging site so you can test things out and make all plugins, theme and WordPress core updates without disrupting the live site.
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks,

ParticipantHi again,
So, my web developer has manually updated the The Events Calendar, but the “There is a new version of The Events Calendar PRO available but your license key is expired. Visit the Events Calendar website to renew your license. You’ll need to renew your license in order to have access to updates, downloads, and support. View what’s new with version 4.4.18.” is still there: https://i.gyazo.com/1c6a4caedf9b4616bea67d9f835d8b3a.png
No such issues with any other plugins.
2. Regarding the recurring event issue, this now works as it should! ? It definitely had to do with the update of the plugin.
But it would be nice to remove the licence key-message in admin panel that I mention above ?
Kind regards,

MemberHi Christina!
I’m glad to know the recurring event issue was solved by updating the plugin. Thanks for following up with this to let me know about it 🙂
As for the expired license message, thank you for sending over the screenshot. It does seem strange that you are still getting the message after updating. Events Calendar PRO 4.4.18 is the latest version right now, so you shouldn’t need to update for the moment.
I will reach out to the team about this error to see if they have more insight on this.
In the meantime, could you please go to your wp-admin > Dashboard > Updates and click the “Check Again” button? After that, do you still get the update notice?
If you still do, please re-try the steps I mentioned before to clear the license and save it again. Does it clear the message?
Please let us know about it.
Thanks,

ParticipantHi again,
So, http://www.nordictennis.no is a multisite of two templates, where I only use The Events Calendar on one template.
1) You tell me to go to: wp-admin > Dashboard > Updates
I can only access Updates from the main multisite… In other words: When I go to the main Dashboard, which is like the “roof” for all the plugins, the plugin is not activated here. It is only activated within one of the themes. So it doesn´t say that I need to Update this plugin here ( see attachment)
2) When I go to the theme that has The event calendar pro installed, there is no Updates, but when I scroll to Plugins, I see the message that The Events Calendar Pro needs updating. (see attachement)I have also cleared the license from The Events Calendar Pro and saved it again. It has not cleared the message.
Do you want a login to the site?

MemberHi Christina!
Thanks for clearing that out!
I missed to notice that your site is a multisite. I’m mostly sure that is the problem here.
Most people using a multisite network will need to purchase a Multisite License. But, if you only want to use our plugin on a handful of sub-sites (10 or fewer) and are willing to perform manual updates, then you do not need a multisite license.
If you use a Personal, Business, or Agency License for a site on a Multitsite Network, you may see a Disconnection notice in your account on this site when you log in and go to My Account → License Keys. You can ignore this. We are working to improve this messaging and functionality.
To learn more about multisite licenses please refer to the following article > https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/multisite-license/
I hope that clears things out. Let me know if you have any follow up questions and I’d be happy to assist.
