GuestHello. I’m trying to set up a site, purpose is to sell permits for fishing. season-passes, and day-passes.
I’ve set up something already using the event calendar and event ticket. Can be seen here :
https://manndalen.com/fiskekort – “Sesongkort” is “Season pass”, and “Døgnkort” is “Day pass”.
Basically, it works as intended, but I was wondering if some changes can be made using add-ons.
“Season pass” is tickets added to a page, and “Day pass” is ticket added to an event.
1 ) In setup mentioned above, clicking “buy now” sends user directly to paypal-checkout. Is there a way to add tickets to a cart instead? Specially inconvenient for day-passes, as user needs to navigate back to calendar view from checkout for each day.
Please suggest how to solve this with cart and checkout at will.
2 ) Is there a way to set up this so that it would be possible to select a ticket from calendar, instead of going to event-view?
Purpose would be to be able to select multiple days before adding to cart, avoiding forward/back-navigation between each daypass.
3 ) The ticket views ( customers and ticket sold), now available from page or event they have been made under. Can they be singled out to make a nicely formatted view that shows each date with entries?Paypal is probably fine for payment gateway, but would it be possible to use the payment gateway from the clients local bank?
Thanks, hope you can help and lead me in the right direction.
Best regards
Ketil Berg.

MemberHi. Very neat to hear of special use cases!
It sounds like you should either use Tribe Commerce tickets (no cost) or purchase Event Tickets Plus (ET+) to use alongside WooCommerce or Easy Digital Downloads (EDD).
1)
Tribe Commerce is PayPal-only, but it doesn’t have a shopping cart to collect things in before doing a singe checkout, like WooCommerce or EDD.
There are many payment gateways available for Woo/EDD. Please reference https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/choosing-ecommerce/ and https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/ecommerce-settings/
2)
No, all tickets get purchased from the Single Events view.
3)
If you’re asking for a place a customer can view all the tickets they’ve purchased, this is available via a shortcode available in ET+: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/display-a-list-of-attendees-events/

Last but not least, we have Bundles and a pretty great Refund Policy so you can buy one or many of our add-ons and thoroughly test them.
I hope this info helps. Let me know if you have any follow-up questions.

GuestHi. So, is it possible to do a custom job to be able to select more than one date (ticket) before going to checkout?
How would I go about to do that, if so, don’t know if it’s a dealbreaker if I can’t deliver it, but it would be very useful. And would make the product look better for similar clients. I’m not a programmer myself, but I have programmers in my staff. Thanks for input, sounds like the addons will take care of everything except selecting multiple tickets.
Best regards

MemberAnything’s possible but it wouldn’t be supported (i.e. watch out for breaking changes in time).
If you’re not using the ET+ Attendee Information, I’d say the “add to cart from the Events List view via a custom button” would be pretty straight forward because we basically run the eCommerce function to add a specific Product ID to the Cart. So if Event ID 728 has just one ticket (WooCommerce Product ID 2812), you could add 2812 to the Cart easily.
However, what if an Event has multiple tickets: $20 for Adults, $10 for Seniors, and $5 for Children? Then that’s 3 Product IDs…
So I’d say it’s not possible to do in an error-free way, especially because you’d then likely not be able to incorporate the Attendee Information functionality, which is pretty helpful for most tickets.
Please let me know if you have any more questions.

GuestI see your point, and of course a variation in prices would be challenging, but in this case there is a flat rate.
When using Event Ticket plus, at least you can add the single ticket to a cart, and then go back to calendar view?
In the free version I have set up, you are directed to payment gateway of Paypal on clicking “buy now”.June 4, 2018 at 12:15 pm #1545721Cliff
MemberYes, you can. The free/core Event Tickets plugin offers PayPal tickets, which we call Tribe Commerce.
ET+ allows you to use whichever payment gateways you want that your chosen eCommerce plugin supports.
Here’s a snippet to bypass the WooCommerce Cart and go directly to the WooCommerce Checkout:
https://gist.github.com/cliffordp/f148a9cacd726e5a86ffeda2d2e204c1
However, it could be modified to redirect to the main Events Calendar. For example:
- Calendar > find event > add ticket to Cart > gets redirected to Calendar > find another event > add another ticket > get redirected again
- Then in your Menu or in a notice message above the Calendar or something you could have a link directly to Checkout.
These are the sort of customizations we cannot provide support for, per our Scope of Support / Terms, but hopefully I’ve helped you see the way forward for your site.
