Hey guys,

We’re a digital marketing agency preparing a website for a client. We are recommending they use Events Calendar PRO and a few clarifying questions came up.

1. Can users submit events?

2. Can we have events across multiple categories so we can display events on different pages based on categories?

3. Can we search events on categories?

Thanks for checking out our plugins!

Users can submit events from the front end of the site using Community Events. With The Events Calendar, categories can be assigned to events, and each category will have its own page by default, which shows all upcoming events for that category. You can use the shortcodes that come with Events Calendar Pro to display events by category on different pages of your site.

You cannot search by categories using the default Tribe bar (which lets you search by keyword, date, and location) that comes with The Events Calendar, but you can filter by categories using with Filter Bar. You can see a demo of this over on wpshindig.com, and this article reviews how Filter Bar works and some of the options that are available with it.
