We have the paid version of Community Events. As administrators, we can add events, but no one else is able to post an event. We would like to fix this as soon as possible as this is, of course, the only reason we upgraded to a paid version. Thanks very much!
January 29, 2017 at 8:01 am #1225839CliffMemberHi, Jennifer.
To be clear, there is not a free version of Community Events. Our only free/core plugins are The Events Calendar and Event Tickets.
Please go to wp-admin > Events > Settings > Community tab and review your settings.
For example, you may want to “Allow anonymous submissions” if you want non-logged-in website visitors to be able to create events.
Or you may want to “Block access to WordPress dashboard” for specific user types.
If you cannot resolve the issue, please follow our Testing for Conflicts Guide (basically switch to Twenty Sixteen theme and deactivate all plugins and custom code other than Modern Tribe plugins) and see if that helps narrow down the cause of this.

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, this does not resolve my problem. We already allow anonymous submissions. Switching to the Twenty Sixteen theme is not an option. We have huge robust site built in the Divi theme. Could you offer another suggestion?
Thanks
February 3, 2017 at 1:25 pm #1229162CliffMemberI understand you do not wish to switch themes even for testing purposes.
It’s best practice to have a staging/development site to test things like this. You should ask your web host if this is available to you.
Regardless, there are other things that may be at play here.
Here are the default troubleshooting steps, which you may choose which ones to try in order to possibly find the conflict without switching your theme/plugins (but it may not be productive):
1)
Could you please make sure all your Modern Tribe plugins (and WordPress core) are at their latest versions?
- Downloads / Version Numbers
- License Keys
- TEC Automatic Updates
- or TEC Manual Updates
- WordPress core updates
Once you verify you’re on the latest versions, please test to see if the issue is still happening for you.
2)
If it is, please follow our Testing for Conflicts Guide (basically switch to Twenty Sixteen theme and deactivate all plugins and custom code other than Modern Tribe plugins) and see if that helps narrow down the cause of this.
3)
If it doesn’t, please enable WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG and share any debug messages you see while changing tickets quantity, navigating your site’s home page, events page, single-event pages, and any other of your site’s pages relevant to this ticket.
Then, please share your System Information (while in Testing for Conflicts Mode). That will give me a lot of extra information to help diagnose the problem.
4)
You might also see if you can spot any console errors at your site. (If needed, you may reference our KB article Using Google Chrome Developer Tools.)
Let us know what you find out.
Thanks.
