GuestHello! I have a WordPress site that currently is using a different events calendar and I’m thinking of switching to The Events Calendar. The sticking point is that there are currently almost 300 user profiles on the site. These users would be the ones offering events and we need their profiles to be linked to their events.
I know that your calendar offers “Organizer” profiles, but if I’m understanding correctly, these are not linked to user profile functionality of WordPress? Is there a way that you know of to link already existing WordPress user profiles to events in your calendar?
I have looked at the Community Events addon – and it looks helpful. I saw in this thread that it sounds like the default WordPress user system in in play – https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/how-do-community-users-login/ . However, I’m not sure if then there is a way to list events by user, with a shortcode perhaps?
I appreciate any thoughts/suggestions that you have!

KeymasterHi Cinnamon,
Thanks so much for reaching out and for your interest in our products!
With our products, you have the ability to list Organizers right on your site, with the help of this handy extension.
With Community Events, you can require Users to login to your site before creating an event. In other words, they would need to have an account (or create an account) on your site, which is handled in WordPress. You can see more about Community Events Settings here: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/community-events-settings/
I hope this helps to answer your questions, please let me know if you need any further clarity!
Thanks,
Jaime

GuestThanks for your response Jaime. I think that my request falls somewhere in a combination of BOTH of those things and perhaps I wasn’t clear in my first email.
Because all of our facilitators are already users with profiles, they would not then be “Organizers”, but rather would fall into the Community Events side of things. So is there any way to list the Community Events users and the corresponding events they’re offering? It doesn’t sound like it, if I understand correctly, as that is tied to the “Organizers” only, which are not “Users”.
In other words, there is no direct connection between Users and Events? I would essentially need to add every User as an Organizer?
I may not be explaining my goals very well! Thanks for helping – Cinnamon

KeymasterHi Cinnamon,
Community Events are tied to Organizers, and are created by Users, but Organizers and Users are not tied to one another. You could search events by Organizer, but you would set up each Organizer manually, rather than having them each tied to a WordPress User.
Our products are highly customizable, and it may be possible to achieve what you are looking for with some customizations. We maintain a list of developers who work with our plugins on our Knowledgebase here:

You are welcome to add this idea to our feature requests, as we take our customer feedback into account when implementing new features:

Please let me know if you have any other questions!
Thanks,
Jaime
