I am unable to enter the Licence Key in the Events > Settings > Licence. The tab is completely blank so I cannot validate the licence!

This also means I am unable to update the plugin which is extremely frustrating.

Any ideas would be much appreciated!

    Many thanks,

    Hi Sam,

Thanks for reaching out. I’m sorry for the trouble here but am happy to help get this resolved!

This is an odd issue I cannot recreate — so for starters can you please post your site’s system information as described in this Knowledgebase article? ? https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/

☝️ If you’re not able to do that because other settings tabs are blank, then please do the COMPLETE set of steps on this Knowledgebase guide → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts/ After EACH STEP in this process, go back to Events > Settings > Licences and see if the tab ever shows up instead of being empty.

Let us know what you find!

    Thanks,
    George

    Good evening Sam,

Thank you for writing back and for the system information.

I believe the issue is caused by the fact that you are still using the Events Calendar Pro version 4.1.2.

Unfortunately, using non-matching versions of our plugins (you are using the Events Calendar 4.3.1.1), tends to cause such issues.

The good news is that there is a solution for that:

    1. Deactivate and delete your current the Events Calendar Pro plugin.
    2. Head over to your downloads page
    3. Download the latest version of Pro https://theeventscalendar.com/my-account/downloads/
    4. Install the version manually using Plugins > Add

You should now have your license key tab back 🙂

Let me know how that goes.

    Best regards,
    Geoff B.

    Hi Geoff,

    Thanks for your reply.

One question in regard to deactivating and deleting the current version of the plugin…

The plugin is currently in use and has numerous active bookings saved on the plugin. Will these all be deleted with the plugin or can they be transferred over to the new version automatically once downloaded? Or will they have to all be entered manually again?

    Many Thanks,

    Sam

    Good evening Sam,

    That is a great question.

The short answer is no. None of the existing events and bookings will be impacted by deleting the plugin.

That being said, it is common practice when doing that to:

    1. Make a Database backup in case anything goes wrong (that way you can revert back to it)
    2. Use a maintenance page plugin while doing this quick operation so that your users are not seeing this.

Let me know how that goes.

    Best regards,
    Geoff B.
