ParticipantAs a continuation from the other thread.
I have tried using both GMT offset and city setting for timezone. All result in improper time of events.
I am running Events Calendar Prp 4.0.5

MemberHi there @fxidesigns,
Thanks for reaching out to us!
Can you please point me to the previous thread you mention? I don’t see it in your ‘started topics’.
It would be great if you could share your system information with me so I can check if everything looks right on that end. Also, I see you marked as this was tested under default conditions (default theme and no other plugins active), Can you confirm this?
Please let me know about it,
Best,

ParticipantOk I was able to get some of this fixed by using SQL to delete all of the “tribe_events” and “deleted_event” post types removed. And re-setting the TZ setting (using city) PRIOR to the import. It seems changing the TZ setting on the site causes issues.
But now only SOME of my events are not showing the proper time. For example:
http://www.grymesschool.org/events/2016-02-09/Shows event 5th & 6th Grade Boys Basketball vs. Madison at 11p when its really supposed to be at 6p. Yet all the other event have the proper time. The feed for this event is here: https://api.veracross.com/grymes/v2/events.ics?event_types=17,18,19,20,21,22,24,27
Please help! I need a fix immediately.

MemberHey @fxidesigns,
Sorry for the delay in my reply and thanks for following up with the system information and details.
I’ve reviewed the past thread you mention and also the information you sent from your last import. I also was able to reproduce the error in the time conversion with the particular event you mention (testing with ‘UTC’, ‘UTC-5’ and ‘New York’ timezones). I’ve did another test with an event export from Google Calendar, but in this case it only failed when using ‘UTC-5’ and succeeded to convert the time using the city named timezone ‘New York’. We are facing a bug here, because the plugin should convert the time using UTC offset timezones and also city named timezones.
Can you please indicate the timezone setting in your calendar? Also does it make any difference if you change the calendar timezone mode (WP-Admin > Events > Settings > General > Timezone mode)?
The weird thing it’s only failing for that event you mention, but seems to work well on other events from the feed. Can you check that they have the same timezone settings in the source calendar?
Please let me know about it, I’ll be on top of this!

ParticipantYes all events have the same timezone on the source calendar. If you look at the iCal file you will see the time of the event follows the same time as the rest of the events however that one event time doesn’t get corrected by the TZ settings.
Please note this happens on other events… http://www.grymesschool.org/events/2016-02-09/ See the 11p event

ParticipantThe timezone of the calendar is:”use site wide timezone everywhere”
and the WP time zone is NYC

MemberHey @fxidesigns,
Thanks a lot for following up! I could run some tests and narrow down this bug to the following:
– If the event starts and ends on the same day in the feed (UTC) there will be no trouble with it.
– On the other hand if the event star date and end date happen in different days in the feed (UTC) it will assign the correct Timezone but won’t convert the time of the event.
This will happen with events ending at or after 7pm (New York time), this is why only one event was failing to convert.I’ve already logged this bug and a fix for this will be released in the future.
Sorry for the hassle and thanks for the patience until this is fixed,

MemberHello,
Thank you for reporting this issue. We weren’t able to get a fix for it into our upcoming release (4.1). However, please know that the problem is still on our radar and is ticketed within our system to be addressed in a future maintenance release. We’ll do our best to keep you posted when we are able to get a solution in place. Thank you for your patience while we improve and expand our plugins.

MemberHey @fxidesigns,
Just wanted to follow up and let you know that we released version 4.1.1 last night and it included a fix for this issue. Please update to the latest version if you haven’t already and do let us know if you continue to see any issues from there. 🙂
Cheers and thanks for your patience while we worked on this!
