ParticipantHI, Thanks for supporting a great plugin! I updated today to the most recent verison and now the mobile display of the calendar has two problems:
1. On Month view, the top row with the day name now has black text (instead of the white set on the desktop theme) and it no longer appreviates the day name, so all text overlaps on a phone and makes it unreadable.
2. The View options for Week, Map & Photo are missing from the View option drop down (though they are enabled and available on the desktop version).
Please advise on how to correct both issues. Thank you!

MemberHi Shane,
Thanks for reaching out to us and sorry to hear about these issues! I’ll helping getting back on track.
Checking your site I can see that issue #2 is fixed, and all views are working now. It seems you have been afected by a strange issue with folder names we experienced the first day after releasing and it’s now fixed. If you want you can delete the plugins and re-download them from My Account > Downloads in this site. Take a look at this article describing manual updates.
Regarding issue #1, Can you please follow the steps described in our Testing for conflicts guide? This way we can see if this is a problem in our plugin or a conflict with the theme or other installed plugins.
Please let me know about it,
Best,

ParticipantThanks Nico. You are correct that issue #2 is resolved, and it appears that 1/2 of issue #1 is resolved as well (day name text is now white again, matching desktop site). Only issue remaining is that day names are not abbreviated any more on mobile view, so they all overlap on small screens. I don’t think that is caused by a conflict with the theme or another plugin. It was working fine before the update, and it seems the update code has changed from abbreviated names to full names.
Is that what has happened, or are you saying the names are supposed to be abbreviated still and they do not appear correctly on our site?

MemberHey Shane,
Thanks for following-up! Glad to see we are in a better spot now…
When testing with my local site with Default TweentySixteen Theme I can see this working as expected, but I do see there’s a bug report as well for this.
Just to be sure in your case… Can you please follow the steps described in our Testing for conflicts guide? This way we can see if this is a problem in our plugin or a conflict with the theme or other installed plugins. Try also with PRO deactivated please.
Thanks,
Have a great weekend,

ParticipantThanks for the follow up, Nico. Unfortunately we don’t have the luxury of deactivating most of our plugins and certainly not changing themes. This is a highly visible site with a lot of traffic. We would have to clone the site into another production environment to do these tests.
I have read on the forum where other users have confirmed this same issue after the last update, and they are using different themes to be sure. So I imagine there will be a solution relatively quickly for this issue. Given that it is a minor issue from a functionality standpoint, the lesser of the evils is for us to wait on a solution. Hopefully that will be forthcoming shortly. Thanks for your interest in resolving it!

MemberShane,
That’s cool, no need to test for conflicts if your set-up doesn’t let you do that easily… We already have a bug report in place and hopefully we will see this fixed soon. I’m not sure if the fix will be included in the next maintenance release as it has already been scoped. If it’s not included in this maintenance release, most probably it will get to the next one.
Please let me know if there’s anything else I can do for you or we are good to close out this thread,
Thanks,

ParticipantSounds like we’re waiting for an update. Hopefully that will arrive in days, not weeks. I appreciate your help, Nico. Feel free to close the thread.
Best Regards,
shane

MemberThanks for understanding Shane, I see this has already been fixed and added to the next maintenance release which will be most probably out next week.
Here’s the pull-request with the fix: https://github.com/moderntribe/the-events-calendar/pull/623/files – you can patch the changed files at your own risk!
I’ll go ahead and close out this thread, but if you need help with anything else please don’t hesitate to create a new one and we will be happy to assist you.
Best,

MemberHey Shane,
Just wanted to follow up and let you know that we released version 4.1.1 last night and it included a fix for this issue. Please update to the latest version if you haven’t already and do let us know if you continue to see any issues from there. 🙂
Cheers and thanks for your patience while we worked on this!
Geoff
