ParticipantHi There,
Love the plugins – thank you! I have The Evetns Calendar, Events Calendar Pro and Filterbar installed on a site. All has been working well until sometime this week when things were haywire. I didn’t do anything that triggered the issues, they seems to have popped up by themselves. Here’s what’s happening:
1. When I visit my main calendar page in list view it says “no events found” as if there are no upcoming events. But when I switch to a monthly view I can see events in January and beyond.
2. The event feed on the homepage is blank, as if there are no upcoming events.
3. At least one recurring event which lasted for 7 days has expanded into hundreds of separate event listings, one for each day, even though the original parameters only had it listed as recurring for 7 days. I’ve had to mark these events as “private” to get them off my public calendar, and I’ve left them there so you guys can have a look.
Can you help? I’ve just updated to the most recent versions of all three plugins, but this did not resolve my issues.

KeymasterHi Ivy,
Thanks so much for reaching out!
I’m sorry to hear that you are experiencing these issues on your site!
As a first step, let’s try to rule out if there is some type of conflict at play.
This is usually because of:1. A conflict with another plugin
2. A conflict with your WordPress theme
3. A template customization for the Events Calendar that requires updating
When it comes to that type of issue, it is preferable to troubleshoot in a staging environment if you have one.
A first quick test is to simply temporarily revert back to a default WordPress theme such as twenty-sixteen to see if the issue persists.
The next step would be to go through our testing for conflicts procedure and let us know what you find out.
Basically the goal here is to revert back to a bare WordPress installation to see if the problem persists. It also allows us to pinpoint what the cause of the issue is.
But, before you do that, there are 2 things I would advise:
1. Make a backup of your database
2. Consider activating a “Maintenance Page” plugin if you are doing this on your live site (to minimize impact on your visitors)
Let me know how that goes!
Thanks,
Jaime

KeymasterHi Ivy,
It appears that your calendar is showing “There were no results found” in list view for December because there are no events in December. If you go to the search bar and change the date to 1/1/18, you will see that list view works as expected.
It seems that everything is working properly on your site and that once January rolls around, the events will be listed in List View as you want them to appear.
The calendar by default shows the current month, so for now, if you want, you can switch to month view so that users can advance to January if they want.
Let me know your thoughts!
Thanks,
Jaime

KeymasterHi Ivy,
Okay, I see what you mean. Let’s try to figure out what this could be!
A few more ideas to try:
- Update your WordPress version to the most recent version
- You seem to have no Event Template selected. You can do this by heading to Events Settings < Display.
- Also, can you provide the system information (in a private reply) for the site that is working, so I can compare the two and see if anything pops out?

Let me know how that goes!
Thanks,
Jaime

KeymasterHi Ivy,
Thanks for providing me with this information.
I do see that you are using older versions of our plugins on your staging site (where List View appears to be working). Can you try downgrading and seeing if that resolves the issue?
You can do so via your downloads page: https://theeventscalendar.com/my-account/downloads/
Let me know how it goes!
Thanks,
Jaime

KeymasterHi Ivy,
Thank you for bearing with me! I have tried to replicate this scenario on my own test site and have been unable to do so.
And yes, I noticed that it works on the reload but not on the initial load of the page.
In any case, I just visited http://sunbridge.staging.wpengine.com/courses-workshops-events/ and http://www.sunbridge.edu/courses-workshops-events/ and I see that Upcoming Events are listed for January.
Has the issue been resolved? If not, let me know!
Thanks,
Jaime
